Yeah Jay...I did see those numbers.
Initially, when I made that statement it was based off of Sierra data that I still use quite often.
I think it was from the 4th Edition of their manual, which shows 3500fps for the .223 using 40gr. bullets.
After rechecking the data, I saw where they had a Hornet bullet listed, so maybe they kept velocities low for that reason....who knows.
After looking at Hornady's newer data, and now, VV powders on the link you left, instead of their being a 100fps. margin from my hunting load of 3400fps., to the .223 load "Sierra showed" at 3500+, it's more like 200+fps. difference, "max vs. max" with the newer data.
Pushing both the .22 Super Jet and .223 to their max loads, I can get 3620fps. out of the Super Jet, and the .223 shows 3846fps.
Never the less, you gotta admit, it's not bad on half the powder charge.
