Which spotting scope for under $400?

Which spotting scope for under $400?

For elk and mule deer in the high country (and to also use at the 200 meter range), which spotting scope should I get for under $400? I understand the entire “buy the best glass you can afford” and the “you get what you pay for” arguments but my budget is limited to under $400.

I have looked at the Leupold Sequoia in a 15x45x60 for around $250 and the Nikon Prostaff in a 16x48x65 in the $400 range and was wanted you guys input on others. Eye relief is important since I wear eyeglasses.

My dad got a heck of a deal at the Bass Pro in OKC. For $130 he got a combo package from Redhead that included a 10x42 binocular with a carrying case, and a 18-36x50 spotting scope with a carrying case, tripod, and window mount. He loves it. Redhead may not be the best, but it sure is the biggest bang for your buck, especially since it's in a package combo. Plus, it is WAY below your budget. I recommend you at least check it out. Good luck in what you do eventually get, though!
 
I have the Leopold and like ti alot. TI fits my needs well. It was a toss up between the Burris Scope and the Leo. The Leo one out simply cause it felt better in my hand.
