I am planning to have WOA make an upper for me.
anyone have their uppers? likes? dislikes?

I have 204 rifles and reload stuff.
I am considering either a 204,20 practical or one of the 6mm's like the 6mm WOA..for the upper....how about the 6X45...

20 cal's would be because i like to go PD shooting.
How do the 20's work for coyote shooting?

6mm would be for more oomph if i go coyote hunting...
how would the 6mm WOA work with 58 or 65 gr bullets PD Shooting...

does anyone have a 223AI AR.... do they work in an AR?

looking for comments and opinions

i've got one of their .204 Ruger uppers and i couldn't be happier.

when i called i thought i knew what i wanted and John gave me some great advice that i'm glad that i took. i thought i wanted a 24" barrel but john pointed out that a 20" doesnt lose much velocity and it's lighter and just as accurate.

WOA uppers are very high quality for a very reasonable price.
 
I was lucky enough to get an WOA upper back when they still did spiral barrel fluting. It's 1-12 twist and shoots .223, 40gr v-max's stupid accurate.

I do not recommend 204 for coyote. Too much spin run and follow up shots needed. I learned this from experience and not by reading about it on the internet.

Now with the 6mm/.243 your talking about a coyote drt machine. Look how far back I hit this coyote at 75 yards and he dropped were he stood. 55gr NBT

I have a 20 Practical from WOA. Like the rest of the uppers, accurate as all get out. I use the bergers for coyotes and put them down easy. For pdogs, plastic tipped bullets (Blitz Kings or Vmax) make them turn inside out.
You might have to wait a bit for it, but nothing like other builders on this site.
 
I got mine 2 months after the order went in. Couldn't be happier with the upper. .223 varmiter, had the barrel turned down a bit to cut weight.

I just had two of those built, one light and one heavy. They are both 1-12 twist and both shoot 40 grain bullets very well. Feeding is fine if your magazines are right. With some mags I found that it can be a problem, but that is mostly my old (probably worn out) 20 round colts. Magpul's plastic mags seem to work really well so far. The heavy one was a pd killing machine the other day while fireforming brass and nearly won me a shooting match at the local range. The light one wasn't done in time for any of that but I built it for a coyote and rockchuck rifle.

That brings me to a question for some of the experienced coyote killers out there: would a 40 gr nbt at 3750 fps be effective coyote medicine or is that bullet too fragile to be reliable?
 
I have owned one WOA 204 for 2 years. Very clean looking gun. nice craftmanship and like you would expect shoots very good. Best groups so far is .54 inch at 200 yards. Been so impressed with how it shoots I ordered a 223 18 inch barrel to replace the bushmaster I traded off. 204 has been plenty for coyotes if my shot placement is good the dog is dead.
