White Oak Barrels vs Proof Barrels In 22 Nosler

I am trying to decide between spending the $800 on a Proof barrel or saving a lot of money and getting a White Oak barrel. Either of the barrels would be in 22 Nosler to go with the 24” Balltistic Advantage I am already running on another upper. I would get the 20” in a White Oak in their predator contour and or a 22” in the Proof. Whichever one I get will be run suppressed when my can gets out of jail.
 
cmmg is making them also and have them in stock. I wish someone would try one and do a review hint hint.
 
Ritch has a new 22 Nosler. Based on the other barrels from TO they ought to shootVERY well and won't cost you a small fortune. You might give him a call.

I can't speak to the Proof barrels, but I own 4 White Oaks and couldn't be happier. They're fairly priced and all four will shoot sub MOA with handloads. I'll continue to buy them until they give me a reason not to. IMO you just can't go wrong with the White Oaks.
 
Was looking at the 1:12 but see it is only offered in the heavier contour and unthreaded. Would love a 1:12 predator contour threaded but they only show available in 1:8.

Ya, I would be all over a lighter contour 22" 12 twist for sure.
 
me three, my 24" 12 twist shoots phenomenally. only down side is the weight. I guess Dtech is going to be the only offering that is built the way that we want.
 
I have a WOA 20" Predator barrel in 22 Nosler and it has worked very well. It balances perfectly on shooting sticks with a suppressor at that barrel length and weight. I haven't tried a Proof barrel, but my buddy has one chambered in 6x47 and it is crazy accurate. That's a ton of money for a barrel though and it's not $600 more accurate in my opinion.
 
I have a xcaliber barrel any twist you want 7-8-9-10-12 mine is a 9 twist you can pick the rifling also pick your contour you can pick your fluting. And they offer cryogenic to best ar barrel for me to date.hagar brass and 6.8spc bolt made this a tac driver !

Midway has the Proof stainless steel barrels for $369 and there threaded and medium contour. I called Proof this afternoon to ask if their rifle length +2 gas system would fit under a 15" handguard and the engineer told me it would and he actually had the same setup.
