White on coyote

Had friend send me picture of coyote hanging close to their farm house. Send me picture but it has white tip on tail and two white leg one most the leg and other looks like sock. Pictures are a little ways out but it sure looks like coyote. You guys or gals ever run across this?

Yes looks like coyote, white tipped tails a quite common around here, white legs not common.

I did not see your photo but when I was a kid in Arkansas I saw several animals similar to the one you described that my dad referred to as "coydogs". He said coyotes would occasionally cross breed with farm dogs (and I have read that also). I have NEVER seen anything like that here in Montana.

It's like changing the music to a movie scene, cause that picture makes it look a little more dog like waiting for you to throw the ball.

Looks like a coyote caught a small border collie.

When a coyote crosses with domestic dogs, all colors can come out.

Back in the South, they come in many colors and they are called Coy dogs.

I shot one a couple of years ago that was pure blond, and it was a coyote.

It either has white on it or the beginning of mange and the fur dropped off.
