Anybody have one or heard of these guys? They are made here in Michigan:

Go to "knives" and click on the large photos.

I spoke to the owner for about an hour today. I was very impressed in every way.

I have a "backpacker" in S30V/kydex sheath on the way. It seems to me this knife is a heck of a deal, if you look at what other similar knives sell for, with less expensive steel and less expensive sheaths. I took one look at this knife and knew I wanted one, based on the pattern alone. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they were made right here, and in S30V. It is same knife as the Caper, I just want to put my own scales on it.

Now, here is the kicker: I found out who does the heat treat on these knives, and was even MORE pleasantly surprised. Another Michigan company, and a guy who is/was legendary in these parts for his heat treats. I can say with no uncertainty, that the heat treat will be as good as it gets. Period.

More to come...........

Doggone it Ken...it looks like I'll be buying another knife. That backpacker is nice. And I like the scales on the caper (same blank??) Maybe I'll have to trade/sell some of my collection to 'justify' a new purchase.

I like this thing. Just "sits" right in your hand......

I may use the piece of burnt stag for scales with leather sheath. If not, I'll go G-10 with the kydex. Not sure yet.......
