Who here has gotten this from their wife/girlfriend?

My wife quit worrying about me and my internet friends when I showed her a picture of Y'all.

This thread brings back old memories.

Redfrog and I met via this board. I suggested we get together in Alberta and slay all of the dumb coyotes in his neck of the woods. Both of our wives were in shock, that: 1) I would drive almost 8 hrs to meet a complete stanger 2) We would actually spend 3 days hunting together 3)Neither of us were sexual deviants, or serial killers, in spite of meeting on the internet!

I still laugh thinking about it.

I see Redfrog posted right before me. I can promise you if he would have looked like any of the folks in the picture he posted, I would have turned around and made a quick trip back home.

Fortunately, he only looks half as bad!

Personal safety should always be a valid concern....but most of the people I'm going to be spending any time with, other than at a range, I've met personally on a social basis previously, or at least my wife has met them...

Having spent most of my life in law enforcement related activities and my wife used to be a corrections officer, we are pretty good at sizing up people through limited contacts..

If it were someone I was going to be hunting with, normally we would have met and discussed strategy, or practices, before ever climbing in a car to go anywhere,,,since I wouldn't want to get out in the woods and then have to discuss how things were going to be handled...I like to know how the other person thinks before getting into a shoot/don't shoot situation...

That was the first thing I thought about when I read this thread. That was years ago and we've had lots of fun since then.

She could find you a big old scary looking guy to out on the desert with hoping he wont bring you home so it could be worse lol.

Sorry!!! Never happened to me my wife is an avid hunter even in the snow deer hunting she doesn't complain I'm lucky. But all my hunting buddies get it bad from there wifes.

Cell Phone, map one for you, and one for her. Put a big old red X on the area you are going; use a yellow marker for the road or trail. Provide her with a time frame in which you are going to be in each area.
Or tell her she needs go, and Bring a book, she will need it..

Good luck...

Not saying she is, just saying.

Good luck, maybe if you let me Cerakote a Pink AR for you to give to your wife, just maybe she will go with you?

Only if I shoot one out from under her...

No Pink AR either.

I married a city girl who has no desire to pull a trigger, other than her .380 at the range. But we do balance each other out very well. She is hands down the best cook that I have ever had the pleasure to have a meal from. She excels at wild game cooking and her duck and venison recipes are out of this world.
But, I too have on more than one occasion been grilled on how, "they", meaning her, were going to be able to find me if something should happen. I am pretty much a solo hunter. To appease her initially, I rented and carried a Sat. phone with me during my hunting season. It was heavy and expensive, but she liked to be able to hear my voice when I was in the back country hunting high buck. Eventually we settled on detailed maps with contact info. for local SAR and I know carry a PLB, Personal Locater Beacon, and survival gear on every outing.
I guess after 10 years she has a little more faith in this country boy.

So far, from the people I've met from this site they are the nicest bunch of axe murderers and serial killers I've ever met.

Seriously though, I've met some really great people from this site.

Quite the contrary. I have had the opportunity to meet several people from this forum and others. Some here local and some on the farm from over 1000 miles away. My wife, my family and myself have all been very pleased with the quality of people that this obsession has brought to our lives.
In every case I believe has been a mutual friendship and we get together to hunt/shoot and BS any chance we get.

It was kinda a shocker the first time my good friend joghotrod drove 1100 miles to meet me to shoot a few pds. He said he was going to but I was skeptical. Now its an annual event for us and for him.

Barry...that's awesome! My wife only has the desire to shoot an elk, and now a coyote. The problem is getting her to actually go. She's all talk!

She's not my wife yet, but my girlfriend just about always goes deer hunting with me. With a bow she can out shoot me any day of the week. And she's pretty darn sharp with a rifle too. She can hit groundhogs farther than I can spot them for her!

She refuses to go predator hunting with me... Her theory is "They'll eat ya". No matter what I say or do, I can't convince her that they're alot more scared of her than what she is of them!!! And she'll swear to you that MCWALK and I are lovers since we met on the internet, and I spent a weekend at his house to go hunting without ever meeting him face to face beforehand.

Here she is very intently waiting on stand for a big buck to come sneaking by.......

My wife readily admits she could not stop talking long enough to go hunting. She knows she could go if she wanted to.

And yes, I get the "you're going hunting with people from the internet?" comments, too.

My wife loves to shoot just doesn't have the urge to kill anything, so I don't push the issue. I am glad she enjoys guns. She never has a problem when I say that my son and I are going coyote hunting Pbchucker.

my wife has no intrest in shooting or hunting and i constatly get the your going hunting again what you going to do with them if you get one.. then the 4 or 5 calls/texts in a 3 or four hour period it gets bad.. so my rule is shut the phone off!! but im willing to go hunting with anyone that want to go with me ill teach what i know and try to learn what they can teach me so i mainly go to learn lol cause i dont know to much... so anyone want to go hunting..

This is an example of how SOME women have been brain washed by the feminazi's that men are weak and can't defend themselves and the problem is SOME men start believing it. Men need not to kiss up and be a yes honey man, but instead need to stand up and leed their families from in front and their wife and children will follow.

I'm Standing back waiting for the incoming!

VAportrail. I agree.
On the flip side, I don't share a bed with you, so I have to keep momma happy.
I just happened to marry a worry wart.
She knows I will be safe, just worried.

Its doubtful my wife worries much about me...even in the company of hunting strangers. She'd worry more about me going alone than with a friend I have chatted with on the internet for a few years.
