Who makes the best rifle bullets?

I doubt anyone has asked this question on here, but in your opinion between Hornady, Sierra, Nosler and whoever, who do you think makes the best rifle bullet for reloading?

My favorite are Sierra and Nosler. I tried Hornady and can't them to shoot out of any rifle I own. Hornady pistol bullets have always worked for me though, go figure.

They are all good. It depends on the application. I buy whats on sale....unless I need a specific bullet for a specific requirement.

I have to go with venatic. I've tried quite a few but always end up with Sierra. I've had the worst luck with Hornady and I don't know why, but I can't seem to get them to shoot as well as Sierra.

After all these years I don't experiment to much anymore and just go back to what has worked well before.

A generic question deserves a generic answer. Americans make the best IMHO.

You have to be kidding, with 30 some odd calibers, thousands of applications, literally millions of combinations, you want a single answer.

Nosler Partitions for a hunting bullet, based on performance. The most accurate bullets I've found for my AR have been Hornady V-Max.

As said, it depends on the application.

For LR shooting/hunting I like AMAXs from Hornady.

For pdogs and coyotes (varmints) I like VMAXs again Hornady.

For general hunting I like Nosler NBTs followed by Hornady SSTs.

So I guess I shoot a lot of Hornady followed by Nosler.

I use to shoot nothing but Nosler NBTs, but there prices have gone up and Hornady is offering great products at a great price in there SST/AMAX line up IMO.

i have won more matches with lapua scenars than all others put together . including berger. more b&c game animals with noslers. more coyotes with the 85 sierra bthp.

the 167 hornady bthp are great out of my garand. the 87 bthp are awesome out of my .243

I have shot most of them I like to buy what I can find local. Which is usually Hornady, Sierra, and Nosler. All 3 shoot great for me and I have loads for all of them. Nosler BT's are mostly used for coyotes, Vmax's get used mostly on Pdogs sometimes yotes, and for some reason I usually just shoot paper or steel with the Sierra's and I don't know why???

As for the best I would say whichever shoots the best in your rifle.

Depending on the use, and what a particular rifle likes I have had succsess with all three brands. With hornady,seirra, and Nosler making up a majority of the bullets on my loading bench, I have also had good luck with barnes and speer also. Found one ruger #1 in 7mm rm that was finiky, but it sure liked the 145 gr hot cor from speer. Then they quit making them. The only one I have not played with much are berger, can't comment.

This is a question that will NEVER be answered correctly. If you could maybe do a poll. Not sure what it will prove to you or anyone else but may be worth the fun.

Every rifle is different and every shooter has their preference.

For big game, I only use Barnes TSX or T-TSX;

For accuracy, generally Sierra Matchkings;

For coyotes, Vmax (243), Gamekings (222mag), Barnes (22Hornet), B-Tip (223wssm).

If I had to pick one bullet for all calibers for everything, I would pick Barnes, deadly on game and deadly accurate.

I use to shoot mainly Bergers. I get very good groups with my R-15 shooting Blitzkings. I like the V-max, but seems their harder to get to group than the Sierra bullets. My 308 loves the Berger match but the prices are going through the roof and it makes it harder to buy them just to punch paper. I just read this answer to the OP and it sounds like I don't have a clue which bullet is best???????????????

+1 I use all different brands but my go to bullet has always been Sierra.
