Who shoots a 270 Win for coyotes?

Use whatever suits you and have fun. There’s no rule that says you can’t shoot a caliber of your choice. Shot my first coyote with a .270 only because that’s what I had in my hand while mule deer hunting. I generally use a 6mm of some sort, like a 6x45 in AR platform or a 6mm Remington, or an AR in 6.5 Grendel that has dropped several. I like to mix it up sometimes, gets boring using the same thing over and over. Last year I used a 25-06 that dropped them as if they were pole axed. I shoot 70 gr. Blitz Kings at 3400 fps in that one. Surprisingly, most shots did not exit on broadside coyotes. It’s all about enjoyment anyway, so put that .270 to work and drop ‘em. Don’t forget to have fun.

Here’s some of last year’s 25-06 coyotes.
