Who uses a chair ?

$10 folding tripod chair is all you need, forget anything else.
If you want back support and arms you may as well just stay home in your recliner w/a beer.....IMO.
Its not like you are going to be out there in 1 spot more then 30 min, so the lighter & easier is always better.

I carry two chairs on my backpack due to the varied terrain we hunt. I have a little 3 legged stool that snaps into the lashes on the bottom of the pack and a lightweight "stadium" type char that clips to the back of the pack. All in all just a couple pounds total but sure makes it nice regardless of where I have to sit.Because I am old and broken I need the support. Can't sit for that long without it.

Plus where we hunt 9 times out of 10 you don't want to be sitting on whatever is on the ground...

You can see it here. Looks like I am carrying a ton but that is just for the "river" crossing.

Now I'm not experienced AT ALL, but that's my general take on things.

Get one of those folding stadium seats or a snap-together fabric and foam one, pair it up with a tall tripod and mount, and you can last for as long as you need, really.

At least, that's the direction I'm going..

Mind sharing a photo of that?

I have use a simple Golf stool that is like a single peg that sticks in the ground, 25 years. I carry a set of pruning shears and carve a hole in a bush and back myself into it, coyotes NEVER see me.

Obviously, hunting in different parts of the country is very different. I am sure that you are aware of the fact that all this stuff you carry into the field carries it's own scent.

I recently got the cabelas gobbler lounger which is a lot like that, but have found myself going back to the ameristep lounger as its portability just works better for me.
