Who uses ATV/Quads to hunt? Added pics of Quad and Trailer

I use mine a lot and in the same way most of the other posters have mentioned. It doen't seem to bother the Coyotes much. This is a 1988 Honda Foreman I bought new at the end of 1987. I put its first set of tires on it this year. The original ones started to weather check, but the tread was still in great shape. I'm not very hard on mine either.

Nice, i just took the krylon can to mine, bored on Christmas eve, family is at church, (i can't be a hippocrite and go one time a year) and a couple of cocktails later: with the new $80 trailer too! Needs some sand colored paint but the fumes and the Seagrams were too much to do tonite!!!!!!!!

If you guys are taking your ATV's out hunting, I have a suggestion. You might want to have a pair of ATV jumper cables handy. I've had mine for 5 years and never used them.
They finally paid for themselves. It only takes once.

I agree, Neither my wife or I are much into hot rodding the Timberwolf around as evidenced by its longevity of use for us. She loves to go for an evening spin around the valley that we live in just cruising around in third gear watching for the wildlife that is so abundant down here. We live adjacent to a 7500 acre WMA and we are constantly seeing wildlife of all sorts. My primary use for the quad as stated is in hunting and ease of getting to the various stands and traplines in winter. We keep several groundblinds and treestands set up almost year round and with my disability the quad keeps me hunting when I couldn't possibly get around as I used too.
 
OkieOutlaw, WOW, I haven't seen that definition of Veteran before, but if resonates with me - 4 generations of my family have written that check.

RoadKill - seems like you've gotten all the solid advice. My best hunting buddy from Chandler goofed his back up and Quads to both save the sides of his nice pickup from scratches and save his back. I've still got the infantry/engineer ability to "ruck up" and get there but catching a ride on the back rack of his Quad is nice. I haven't heard it mentioned but keeping your weapons on the front sure cuts down on the amount of dust you have clean off the weapons when the hunt is done. Let's see some pics of the terrain where you hunt near Yuma. I spend a year there one summer!
 
Wow talk about a steal on both a trailer and quad. For that price around me, I am looking at at leat a 10yr old quad

But generally no, I don't use an ATV for hunting. Just an occasional retrieve.

Just a pic of the old Timberwolf from my trailcam as I was checking for hog activity at one of my favorite stands. Farther away and she blends right in with the surrounding and you have to look for an out of place shape to see her, ie handlebars, wheels or the box on the front rack.

I made a set of jumper cables out of a piece of HEAVY extension cord and some clips from radio shack. They are 6' long and store very easily. I made them after a friend got stranded and had to drive to town for a set,on the way to town he had a flat tire on the truck (no spare)((idiot)) he had put his fix a flat in his quad box, all this made him late for his daughters recital and of course his wife has NEVER let him forget it. I made him a set also
