Why get a 30-06?

It's the can't lose answer. For all the North American big game animals, there may be a theoretical "better" choice when just considering a single animal, but when you consider hunting more than one, that's where the .30-06 really comes into its own. It works, it has worked, and in a century it will still be working.

The single biggest detractor is the lack of glamor. Bling is not the 06's thing. The .30-06 is the jacked up off road pickup truck of the hunting world. There will always be something newer, faster, bigger, badder, trendier, cooler, hotter, whatever, but nothing covers the ground like the .30-06.

Of all the calibers sitting in houses around this country today... there will PROBABLY be 3 main choices....

22LR.... 12 Ga... and 30-06.

Not that they are the best... or even have the best bling... but they are the most reliable... and you just gotta have these for a basic arsenal collection.
 
Knock it off with the "why get a____" thing. I see that you haven't revisited a single one of these posts either. We get that you're trying to get to the minimum posts to buy/sell in the classifieds. At least try to make it meaningful.

For that, isn't he actually required to post himself the minimum number of times, and not just get x number of responses? Maybe not?

That said, I'm guessing he's laughing his azz off every time someone responds with a genuine response to one of his threads. My guess the number in his user name makes him about 14 years old.
