I've been loading with IMR4895 in both Federal and Winchester 243 brass...58 gr V-max bullets...21" barrels... while shooting this load from different rifles... and the Federals are always 75-100 fps Hotter.... why...? and they are loaded and seated exactly the same.
from my Howa rifle... 44.0 gr. Win = 3779 fps Fed = 3856
from my Savage 110... 43.7 gr. Win = 3664 Fed = 3751
from my Blk Savage 110... 44.0 gr. Win = 3771 Fed = 3857
and when I get up close to 3900 fps... the brass looks hot... so I'm going to be staying around 3800 with Win brass... that is where my Blk Syn stock Savage 110 shoots 3/8-5/8 groups at 133 yds.
