Wicked Lights

Why do Nite Snipe look good?

Why do Nite Snipe look good?Slightly better price and comparable specs to Wicked lights.

What specs??

You're comparing apples and oranges

The Night Snipe is a reflector based light, looks to me like a HS802 very similiar the the XLR250

The Wicked is a zoom light or spherical lens light.

Can't compare the 2 lights because they are not in the same class, but the Wicked is a much better light.

Thank you for your input. I know next to nothing about either of these two lights. I was comparing the illumination specs quoted on their websites. Your input is exactly what I've been looking for.

This will tell you a little about how you measure light.

http://www.predatormastersforums.com/for...726#Post2293726

Most zoom lights will be brighter than reflector based lights. But if you going just for numbers you can be fooled.

A 38mm light (T20) a T50 and T66 (all dimensions of the spherical lens) will be brighter as you increase the lens diameter when driven the same with the same led, you do nothing to change the lumen output you just increase how small the light can be focused or squeezed.

It's all based on how small you can squeeze the light beam and focus the LED. When focused the bigger the lens the smaller the light beam. The oxymoron of all this is guys chase their tails in circles discussing FOV in rifle scopes and then buy a light that projects a small square a fraction of the FOV of the scope they are using. I find this annoying and back off my zoom light to fill my field of view.

I've come up with this analogy. If I wanted to snuff out a fire at 100 yards I'd be much more efficient at it with a hose that sprays a 3 inch circle at 100 yards and just reaches out to 200, than a hose that sprays a 1/4 inch circle at 100 yards. The quarter inch hose may reach 400 yards but if all my fires are in the 150-200 yard range I'd be much better off with the first hose.

I used my wicked lights last night in the light rain we hunted public property and had no takers but I really like the scanpro it keeps my hands free and would make it much as easier to hunt alone at night if I had to I prefer to hunt with one other person but I really like how scanpro frees up your hands

The Scan Pro, headlamp changes the ease and pleasure of nighthunting. It reduces the fatigue of pointing an arm, stretched out all night, it only scans where you are looking.

One of my hunting buddies wanted to try mine once after scanning for years by hand. After a couple of stands I had to laugh out loud when he said "[beeep] man! this thing ain't nothing but the truth!"

It will make a noticeable change to how relaxed and easy it is to look for eyes. BOTH HANDS FREE

I love my Predator Pursuit Pack of two Intensity Control Scope lights and a Scan Pro. Worth every penny.

Glad you guys are liking the new Predator Pursuit kits. We wanted to cater to the guys that wanted to hunt by themselves or with a partner. The headlamp allows you to scan and pick up eyes, then switch to the rifle mount. Or you still have the ability to have a designated light guy as well. They have been awesome for me!

Scanning with hand held is like watching TV without out a remote, your just to stubborn to change your ways or too stupid to know what's easier and better.

Jeff
I am on a Michigan based Facebook page for coyote hunting. I have the original predator pursuit package. Loved it up until a week ago when my lights started screwing up on me.
Now I am in the market to upgrade and I am having a hard time deciding what way to go. Wicked is what I know and has worked great for me in the past. I know they have come a long way from mine that I have. This FB page swears up and down that the night snipe is the best on the market. Brighter, better built and cheaper than the wicked lights. I know it has been said that comparing them is apples to oranges but when looking at them both I see no difference really. Both are a zoom style.
My question that I have is what sets them apart. Customer service is out of the equation because I know wicked is a good company to deal with and night snipe says they have the best. I want to know about the product itself. As of now I am not able to make a good decision because when I asked this question on FB all I got was that they worked very close with the manufacturer to ensure the best product. I hope you can clear the air and let me know what differences there are.
Thank you for your time.
Brian Lawrence
