Wildlife Tech....remote lanyard ideas???

I have a WT KAS2030, and was wondering what others of you do for a remote lanyard since there isn't a loop or anything on there to attach to.

If I have to take the remote apart to put a loop on it I will but I thought I'd see if there are other ideas. I'll for sure lose it eventually if it's not attached to my neck somehow.

I don't have a WT, but if I was in your fix I'd contact April @ Yotersden. She can make a nice protective cover/pouch that hangs from a lanyard.

Plastic weld epoxy. Not pretty, but it works good. Just clean the remote good with acetone and fray out two ends of your loop or lanyard cord. Mix up the epoxy and glue it on. Permanent.

Take a screw driver and remove both screws on the remote. Take cover off of remote and at the bottom drill two holes for youre lanyard. String both ends of cord through the holes and tie in a small knot, then put some silacone at bottom on inside and out side and youre good to go. Put cover back on and tighten screws..
I also bought a pouch that is sold for GPS hand models and mounted it on the side, this is where i store the remote when caller is'nt being used.

Just pop the remote apart as TA17rem says and drill a single hole that is a "tight" fit for a piece of para cord doubled up to fit through. Start with a small drill bit and work up to whatever is a tight fit. Once you have a good fit, I tie about a 1.5" loop in the para cord and then epoxy or super glue the knot. Slip the para cord loop through that hole and then put a dab of silicone over the hole and you should be good to go. Make sure that the knot on the para cord will allow room for batteries and circuit board though and move hole to a good spot out of the way. If you need a photo, just let me know, I have lanyard loops on several of my old WT remotes.

There is a small clip that is used for electronic cables; like USB, keyboard or mouse cables. These clips have an adhesive backing and can be attached to walls or desktops. I attached one of these clips to the back of my remote and attach the lanyard to it.

Here is what I have done and it has been faithful. Use velcro and cut a piece to fit the bottom of the transmitter and glue it on. Then cut a piece of leather the same size and glue your lanyard to the bottom of the leather. In my case I used a flat boot lace. Now glue the other piece of velcro over the lace and there you go. The flat boot lace is cheap and I have attached my call list to it. Not sure why as I only use about 6 calls anyway. Use good velcro and you will not be disappointed.

Sew a velcro patch onto your leg and put one on the back of the remote. Just stick it on your leg after that. Or have Yoters Den make you one of their remote holders with the strap to keep on the let. I have one and it works great.

I had my wife find some wide, approx. 3", elastic band used for holding pants etc. up. She measured my arm in my hunting clothes and cut the appropriate length of elastic for the job and made a loop of the elastic band material. Then she sewed a piece of velcro to the elastic "loop". I did all of the work /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif and glued a piece of velcro to the back of my remote. I usually wear the band om my arm so that it's easy to get at, but you can make the band for arm, leg or ? She bought both white and black so I've got all my seasons covered. It's cheap and easy, but you'll have to do a lot of work to get it done. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif MI VHNTR

I noticed you painted your caller. Did you paint the inside of the speaker ? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Jeb,
You can paint the inside of the TOA's, it's just safe to stuff some newspaper or something down near the bottom to keep the overspray from getting inside. I've got a couple of different camo models and there's no harm done.
