Personally, I would resort to using a blade of grass between my thumbs before giving him a dime.
Sighn me up for one too!!!! I may need a few, Im pretty hard on them reeds dont ya know!!! Mark my words on this I WILL STOP HUNTING ALL TOGETHER BEFORE I WILL EVER BUY ANYHTING FROM BILL MARTZ, end of duscussion on my part. Bill, Im looking forward to your email now.

I have had a WT caller for about 3 yrs. It is the old style with 3 speakers in it. I also have 5 soundboards for it. I wouldn't trade it for 5 of all the rest of the other callers . Bill Martz has treated me with nothing but respect.

Well my old 612 didnt have 3 speakers and it called things in just fine, Im sure my new foxpro will do the same. I just cant see spending so much money for a machine that takes a backpack to be carried in and then have 3 speakers to deal with.

Ya know what coyotebuster, we all know you hate WT and we all know you have a new FP caller,do you think you can drop it now. You were asked nicely by several people to chill out. Maybe you should take their advice. At this point you are doing more harm than good.
If you really want to spite WT, keep their name out of the spot lite. If you have a problem with my comments you know how to reach me.

The WT is absolutely the finest e-caller out there, period! Yeah, it's pricey, but I wouldn't trade any 10 mp3 callers, or tape callers out there for my old WT. Get one, I can promise you if your not satisfied with it, you will have no problem at all getting rid of it on any classified board on the net.

I really think that the terrrain you generaly hunt should dictate the caller you use, I presently use a FoxPro and it is a good unit I like the sounds I have and they work pretty good. BUT living in Northen Montana on the high plains we have to cover a lot of country , not a lot of roads, and the coyote population isn't near what they have in the southern states or at least south of here. and we have some pretty fair wind I think we need more volume and maybe a little better clairity, I think maybe the WT fits this country maybe a little better, If I were hunting 40 acre woodlots back east the foxpro or maybe the new loudmouth might be more than you ever need. But things are different when you are looking over 5 thousand acres when you are making a stand. So maybe everybody is right, it just depends on where you are at what caller would be best

I have a WT caller. It is a model he put together with a Reo MP3, rechargable batt, car sterio amp and a huge Hi-Fi speaker. Yes it is overpriced. on the up side Bill spent hours on the phone with Me giving advice, and tips, the volume and clarity are unreal. I have called coyotes in heavely called areas where no other callers worked. Had a few coyotes show up after 1/2 hr with the howling sounds turned up loud. The crow call makes you feel like you are in the movie "The Birds". It is heavy and bulky to lug around, and I can't afford to add any more sounds, but boy does it work

It is funny that the word "toy" was used about the fp. It must be the wt's code word. The wt rep up here yells it all the time.

The wt it to BIG, weighs to much, cost to much, and the word snob comes to mind with thinking about SOME of the wt owners.

I have said this before but I have heard wolves howl for 4 straight days. If we were not sleeping they were at it. A couple in the pack got shot and the rest were just lost on what to do. Myself and another person that was there heard the wt group and lone wolf howl. I was NOT impressed.

Because of that and the wt rep's attitude we purchased a fp. I am berry berry happy.

They will both work, hell so will that blade of grass. I for one go to places that the bulky wt just is a pain. Not everyone hunts/call from their truck. I know of one wt owner that explains it like this "I have a caddy with chevy options".

Buy what you want and not what someone else tells you. I suggest you look at the wt real good first. I also think if you are praising the wt the coustomer service would be great. Otherwise it does not seem to be IMHO.

I had the chance to use one in South Dakota couple yrs ago. The sound was great but I swear it weighed 25 pounds. Does anyone know the exact weight of the WT caller?? Please post an accurate weight not a guess...thank you.

I just jumped on my scales with the old style of wt caller. The unit is big and bulky and with the battery and remote it weighed 17 lbs. Would I rather carry a 2 lb unit that is 6 inches long? Heck yes. But it doesen't hurt me carring a large pack with rangefinder, binoculars, water lunch, shooting stick and a few other things. The results are worth it.

The older models weighed in at 15 lbs or so. The WT unit I use now weighs in at just over one lb. Batteries last forever when kept fully charged. Remote will work from 1 foot to over half a mile if need be. Alaskan Wolfer, you will do well to get a WT. I have used each and EVERY model as they came out and have had no failures. I still have my original battery from the original round unit. It is still going strong after all these years and I use mine from daylight to dark, 8 months out of the year.

Hi Steve. Sounds like some good improvements to me. Funny how defensive Bill and yourself was about shedding some weight off the unit years ago. I seem to remember anyone complaining about the weight being called a "wimp" and other derogatory names, to put it very mildly. Now WT has copied Foxpro (one of many e-callers WT has unmercifully bashed) in touting lightweight 1 lb caller as a selling point?

Having been so successful with the WT over the years, you must have a ton of cougar and bobcat harvest pictures by yourself and clients, with WT included in the pic, to share with everyone. Looking forward to seeing them!

Take care, Curt

I also remember an un-named person saying that you could never get good sound from a horn-type speaker. Call manufacturers used a horn-type of speaker because it was cheap, that's all. The reason for avoiding the horn-type speaker was that a speaker system was necessary for the total sound reproduction. My, oh my, how times have changed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

All I know is that same person said that my foxpro was toy like qaulity in regards to the sound. All I know is I had it facing directly away from me and I had to turn it down it was so loud. That was with it on about half volumn too.

I dont know how you guys hunt coyotes but when I do it I walk ALOT and make ALOT of stands. I wouldnt even consider using a call that weighs 17 lbs. A 17 pound call would be a pain in the a$$ for me. My lightweight toy quality FOXPRO works great and has manipulated a gang of coyotes! My hand calls work better and are even easier to carry than my FOXPRO.

I have posted pics of my WT.

Here is the stats on my WT. My backpack weighs 10lbs., caller is 7lbs including horn. Too break it down a little, backpack alone is 3lbs., includes pockets that have stocking hat, spare pair of gloves, carrying strap to carry out dead yotes, some emergency stuff. Horn is 3 lbs, caller is 4lbs. Caller bag contains spare batteries, hand calls. The backpack is the way to go with any caller. I sometimes walk quite a ways to do calling. It leaves my hands free for my gun and carrying back to the truck my dead yotes.
