wildlife technologies callers

There is a lot of information about WT in the Electronic Calls forum. Here is one thread I found when I used the Official Predator Masters Forums Search Engine: http://www.predatormastersforums.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1446740. The search engine is at the top of every page.

All I typed in was "Wildlife Technologies" and I got 10 pages worth of results. Two weeks ago I had a similar question to you, so I read the posts I found with the search engine and then sent PMs to some of the posters who had owned the WT caller for over a year.

I've got one and I'll say some of my likes and dislikes.

Loud but not as loud as the old WT bag callers. Those were awesome.

The remote is better than the old WT remotes but just slightly. No where near as nice as Foxpro remotes.

The MA21 is louder than the Foxpro CS24. Noticeably louder. Really good sounds. At one time they had the best maybe that's not the case anymore.

They will work with you somewhat on repairs but I had to pay out of pocket for repairs on a used unit I bought.

Easy to carry, the new ones have no antenna either to snag on stuff.

Take a lot of batteries but they do last a long time. 14 batteries would likely do a day and a half of high volume calling. Maybe 2 days.

I have been looking at them also. I read the sound quality is second to none. My BIG issue is the remote. I hunt a LOT at night and rely on my backlit FoxPro remote. I dont see the WT remote being any help at night. Having to turn on a light and refer to some written down list of which call is which number. I think that is a deal breaker for me??

I have also read a fair amount of customer service issues when needed. Where as FoxPro are second to none with that.

I have an older WT and love it i don't have an issue with the remote at night but i call more in the day anyway I'm not one of those guys that goes through all 100 calls on my caller in a 30 min set either i usually don't play more than 2-4 per set. i can say one thing i see lots of posts about dead batteries and using the wrong batteries and pointing the remote wrong you won't have those issues with a WT i can turn and face the other way with the remote 100 yards away from my caller and it still responds. The folks at WT have never been anything but polite to me, i have read stories but only can go by my experience. all that said i have a cs24c on the way from a member so time will tell may fall in love with it?? but I'm sure i will keep my WT till it won't work, it has seen a lot of predators

I was seriously considering one till I found out how much they wanted to put a couple snow goose sounds on, they can keep them to themselves for that kind of money

Yeap 10 bucks a sound.... It's a bargain really, WT used to charge 33 dollars a sound. Just think you can buy a Flextone Echo and get 90 WT sounds for around 100 dollars.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion... I suggest taking a step back and looking at the big picture...

I would be willing to bet, WT has never caged a coyote, or prodded one, just to get the pup in distress recorded for their unit...
Do you have any idea the time, the money, the effort, the determination it takes to obtain the call list they offer?
Evidently they think their sounds are worth it, many have bought them, and many haven't...
Some prefer Nikon, while others like Swarovski... if you think a 2K dollar pair of bino's is absurd, try telling that to the fellas who use them.

Absolutely
10 years ago if you would have told me i would spend 20+ on a crank bait to fish with i would have told you you are crazy or 9.00 for 4 tungsten weights or 30 for a box of 6 shotgun shells
if there is a sound out there that i think will work better than the ones i have ill spend 10.00 for it in a min we spend over 600 on a call why would you not spend 10 on a sound ?

My buddy has the MA21 the sound is great and so are the sound files. The remote works well but doesn't have the functionality of a FP remote. No backlighting or readout. You need a sound list or have to memorize the numbers for the sounds. Although the sound files are great they are locked down way too tight. You can't even change the order they are in on your caller or the number assigned to each file. Also you can't add your own .mp3 or .wav files to the card. Your only option for more sounds is to buy them from WT. They are great calls, just wish they were a little bit more flexible with the sounds.

Eddy

You exercise your privilege and I will exercise mine, you spend your money your way and I will spend mine my way, but its not just $10, there is a minimum and after spending over $500 on a caller, with that many sounds on it but not the ones I want, I am not about to spend $60 (the min) to get maybe two snow goose sounds, there are other products out there that will do it for a lot less. I like doing business with All Predator Calls where they will put the sounds on for me, call me lazy, cheap or whatever but thats me

By no means are we calling anyone "cheap or lazy"... all I'm sayin is take a deep breath and look at the bigger picture, some fellas are S&B guys and some are Simmons, some guys knock the pi$$ outta cheap equipment, some guys wail on us for using hi-end stuff... what people don't realize is, (and this pertains to both ends of the spectrum) there is time, money, and a lot of work involved making an "alright", "good", or "superior" product, and when people literally jump to conclusions about the cost, without even thinking about what goes into it... is absurd.

In AL it's illegal to have bird sounds on an ecaller while in the field. I think crow sounds are OK but no others.

When I hunt out west i can use any sounds I want to try.

To me -and this is personal and may not matter to most people- the ability to add & remove sounds from the caller, at home, without having to send it to the manufacturer, is a requirement. So far as I know, all Wt callers to date do not allow you to do this yourself, you must send them in.

Possibly that's changed & I haven't heard about it, but if it's something that matters to you, you should check up on the status first.

You still have to have WT upload them... I think

I have heard from time to time that they were going to change that, but I never heard that they actually did.

I think my state may be the only one in the nation with this particular problem LOL

You can swap out cards on the MA21, so you could have a card with no bird sounds on it. You can't mix/match files on the cards though, whatever is on them is what you get.
