Will a Sling Stud Picatinny Adapter Mar The Finish on Stock?

I don't think it will "mess" it up, but my leave a minor mark, depending on how farmer tight you bolt it on. You could put a piece of mole skin on it to lessen any chance of a tatoo. At this point it's a used stock anyway, so I don't think you lower the value any more.

Do you have one? How secure is it? I'm guessing it would be tight enough to hold a light securely. I guess the important thing would be to check the stock and make sure it's level in that area with the barrel so the light would be aligned right.

No, I don't have that one. I've got a Seekins rail, but it goes on my McMillans, not a laminated stock. I think you'll be fine with a bit of mole skin.

Cut a piece of thin rubber sheet and place it between your mount and your shock. An old bike tube should work well. I wax the rubber with Johnson paste floor wax to give it extra grip. Laminated stocks are soft. This works good for tripods
