Will Ruger make a 17wsm in the American rimfire?

Seems like an awesome idea for a cheap, reliable rimfire and I've seen a lot of 17 wsm ammo at Walmart lately. If the made one and it turned out as good as the other rimfires from the Ruger American line ( from what I've seen anyway) then I'd buy one for sure!

They will probably not make the American in 17WSM, because it needs an action that can handle the higher pressures. Ruger went with their 77/17, which can handle the pressures. It is basically the 17 Hornet, turned into a rimfire 17WSM, with a slightly different magazine.

I know that they are great shooters, but the market for them is so specialized that I have to wonder how many the manufacturers actually sell?
