Wilson Combat?

I'm still not satisfied with the accuracy of my AR. I replaced the barrel with a Ballistic Adv. Hanson barrel and it isn't that much better than the factory barrel it came with. So, I was looking at Wilson Combat. They offer an Urban Super Sniper and a Super Sniper. What's the difference? IDK, maybe the Hanson barrel isn't broken in yet but I've put about 150-200 rounds through it. I've watched videos about accurate barrels and they shoot 30 rounds through them and it looks like a shotgun pattern. That won't work for me.

My 1st two ARC barrels were BA's, both sucked, so I bought a Ranier Arms Super Match, which is a Shilen blank which would shoot 1/2 MOA. I would imagine their 223 barrels would perform as well.

The last AR I built, I went with another X-Caliber barrel, & have yet to be disappointing in any of theirs.

what caliber are you shooting ?

i replaced the mil spec barrel on my DPMS 223 with a wilson combat super sniper 20 inch fluted threaded barrel 223 wylde, 1:8 twist.

i also had them apply their armor coat finish. i added a RRA two stage trigger

i use federal factory 53 grain v-max and can shoot 1/2 inch group at 200 yards on a good day when i do my part. that rifle shoots moa and sub moa

i got that grouping my first time at the range and there is no break in period. they say just go shoot.

Mines 223, 1-8 twist, 16' barrel. Accuracy is just ho hum. Probably good enough for some but I'm a little anal about accuracy. I like knowing if I miss it wasn't the rifles fault. Just curious in the difference in a Urban Super Sniper and the Super Sniper.

The primary difference between the Wilson Combat Urban Super Sniper rifle and the standard Super Sniper barrel is that the Urban Super Sniper is an entire tactical rifle built around a lighter, shorter, medium-heavy 18-inch profile barrel, whereas the classic Super Sniper barrel is a longer, heavier 20-inch heavyweight match barrel

Ballistic Advantage is a budget barrel company that once produced great barrels. Those days are long gone and BA is in trouble along with Aero Precision. To date, I've returned three of their .223 barrels, at least their customer service was decent, but they never would tell me what they found wrong with the returned barrels despite me asking multiple times.. They should have an MOA guarantee, if their CS is even up and running, just return the barrel until you get a shooter. There are no shortages of disappointed BA barrel owners on various gun boards.

I've had good luck with other non .223 BA barrels such as their .22 ARC and 6mm ARC as well as some .308 barrels on some AR10 builds.

The only Wilson Combat barrels I have are AR10 barrels in .358 Win and .338 Federal and initial testing yielded MOA and under so I stopped developing loads and ran with what I had. I read good things about their .223 barrels and I have a receiver set left to finish and was considering a WC.

I have other barrels in .223/5.58 such as Douglas (multiples), White Oak Armament (multiples), and Criterion and they are all well under MOA shooters.

If your using a 16" 223 you might look at Ballistic Barn. They carry mainly Shaw barrels for their "top-teir" barrels. I've done some customer builds with them and so far all have been accurate1/2 to 3/4 groups. I know it's a bit heavy but their 20" varmint bull barrel is REALLY accurate. Best pricing I've seen on Shaw barrels too.
