Winchester 70 Coyote Lite

I was wondering what anyone thought of these. I tried doing a search on here but I didn't find any info.. I am thinking about getting one of these in 25 WSSM. I use to have a Browning A-Bolt varmint in 25 WSSM and I really liked it. It has the same ballistics as the 25-6 but in a short action rifle. The model 70 Coyote Lite comes with a 24" fluted semi heavy barrel with a Bell & Carlson composite stock. It is a really good looking gun I think. I have not shot a new Winchester before and I was wondering what I could except accuracy wise. Thanks

I forgot to mention it will be used for long range coyote and varmint hunting and deer and antelope out to about 300-400 yards.

Why not. It will certainly do what you're wanting it for, you already know you like the cartridge, and if you like the look and feel of the Winchester Lite too...I don't see how you could go wrong.

One in particular, the .257 WM!
If your old rifle still shoots, stay with it. (The Browning!) If it does'nt, I'd rebarrel it.
I personally don't like the shorty's of any make.
.257 WM's are wicked! but a good old .25-06 with 100 gr.
NB'tips are only about 125 fps slower.
(That coy dog won't know the diff.)
If you like the shorty's get a 6MM PPC! Load it right and it make's crappy shooters like myself look good. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Plus in the brush of TX. it should be perfect, and save some fur.
WSSM's are copy's of a good shooting round, they're fast!
but just copy's of the good ones, in exm. .243 Win .22-250 Rem. and so on.
I like the old stuff, probably because the bolts are shiny on most of mine and I hate to screw up a good thing.
With a little massaging that coyote light should shoot great! Got one in .22-250.

3 Bed the [beeep] thing and I don't care what the stock is!
4 Pray you get a good barrel! One that i'snt backwards withdrawn, (from hammer forging.) = severe copper fouling!

I think it depends on the gun. Two of my friends own a M70 Lite in the.243 WSSM and it shoots very well with the Win. Ballistic Silver Tips.. The only problem with that is the price of the ammo

Yep, I shoot the factory 64 gr bullets in a 223 WSSM, seems to shoot good out of my mod 70 with no problems. I've heard stories about them not shooting also.
It ain't cheap ammo that's a fact, I've never seen coyotes drop dead so good either.
 
I have a regular Winchester Coyote in .223. Its my favorite rifle. The trigger is adjustable (mine is set at a crisp 1.5 lbs.), it's factory bedded and accurate as hell! The prices on Winchesters are gonna keep going up until they start making them again. I'd jump on it if I were you.
