Winchester Blind Side Shotshells...

Trapper Luke

Wondering how many people used these shotshells this year on ducks and geese? How would you compare them to other shotshells in the same price catergory?

Thanks,
Luke

Steel is steel. I dont think they are any better or worse than anything else. I used #2 and bb blind side this year. But I dont think it made any real difference that will make me rush out to buy more. I can reload a better shot shell than i can buy.

Same here, bought 2 boxes of 2 shot and didn't see any big difference in performance, I either hit them or missed them plain and simple

Did some patterning and with my gun, surprisingly it would not penetrate some weathered 1/2" plywood at 35 yards, whereas my other box of cheap PMC would. Just buy a box and do some patterning yourself to see.

I'm going with them heavy metal shells. #2's have 2 steel and #4 hevi mixed. Really fills in a pattern. The BB, bb steel and 2 hevi mixed does a number on the big canadans.

I have not tried Blind Side or Prarie Storm but when ever you get away from round pellets patterns get worse. I Man told me when shooting trap many years ago buy hard shot not chilled shot. Ask your self what flys straighter a round ball or coffee can lid. I know its steel but it needs to be round & the advantage to the premium steel over Cheep steel is rounder & plated to keep corrosion off the pellets and keep them smooth. Buy the way Blind Side Advertises more shot in these shells but 1 1/4 oz is just 1 1/4 oz... Hope this helps Good Hunting.

I was thinking the same thing.

Just buy the cheap Winchester Xpert and practice shooting more. It will kill just as good as the other. If you want to spend money do it in buying a good choke tube that will pattern the cheap stuff well.

I just bought two boxes of them and the Blind Side I got were 1-3/8 oz.

DO not shoot winchester expert. A hunting buddy of mine every year tries to save some $$ and gets a bunch of Xpert. And every year his shooting sucks, so I give him some reloaded shotshells. When he shoots decent shells he shoots well. Save up some $$ and reload, you can make some really great shells on a whole lot less money. I buy all of my shotshell reloading supplies from Precision reloading.

There isn't a thing wrong with Xperts. Has your buddy ever tried to pattern his gun with Xperts? I bet if he did, he would see that the choke/shell combo are no bueno. Find a choke that throws a decent pattern, and everything will be A-ok. Or maybe he should practice some in the off season. I shot quite a few boxes of them this year out of the 20, and they were absolutely devastating. I won't be shooting anything but Xperts next year(and I didn't want to shoot cheap shells...my gun just loves them though). I bet more ducks are killed by Xperts or Faststeel than any other shells every year, simply because they are cheap and more people shoot them.
