Winchester Coyote 223 WSSM From CDNN

I have read lots of pros and cons about this rifle. I have one in 7MM WSM and it's one of the most accurate guns I own.

I saw these 223 WSSM stainless Coyotes for $450 and Reed's ammo makes 4 loads for it ranging from $15-29 a box.

Do any of you guys have this gun? If so what are your thought and experiences? Thanks in advance!

no current rifles are being made in any of the wssms I take that to mean factory ammo will soon dry up or get so expensive it might as well dry up, unless you know you will handload I would not even consider this gun. I handload most of what i shoot however I still like to shoot factory stuff on occasion

I just took the plunge....Ordered mine from CDNN $449. It is to be in today. It sure does look nice. My plan is to back the loads off and see what happens. Worst case I'll have the free bore removed. And like DTECH stated in any post you can always wildcat it.

I would buy the ammo from Reed's in Oklahoma or take up loading.

I know all about the chrome lined bbls, and Winchester's chitty process vs Browning. I don't have a .223 and thought it would be a good gun to re-barrel one day.

I think the 25 is really the shining star in this case and would like to see it in 6.5 or 7mm, talk about an awesome youth/mountain/truck gun. On another board one of the members keeps talking about rechambering one to 500 S&W. Pretty cool too.

I really like both the .243 and .25 WSSM for the AR-15 platform.

Within a few days I will have the reamers for the 7mm, .300, .338 and .358 versions of the WSSM. I'm not a big fan of the big-bore rifles, but the .358, in 2007 is big-game legal in Indiana. I've been fielding a lot of calls for it, so I decided to order what I needed to build them.

Can anyone tell me of any differences between the SS and the blued Coyote bbl? Is the rifling the same? I would assume that both the SS and blued barrels are chrome lined.

SteveG,
Didn't we clear this up in the last 223wssm post? Browning is STILL chambering for the 223wssm.

AND... Olympic Arms is chambering AR15s in 223, .243, and .25 WSSM. I think that combination would by extremely slick. Time to start saving for another upper and some magazines...

Noper on the chrome.....

They both just have nekkid barrels waiting to be charred by large doses of gun powder shot from little bitty, thick, hard, almost steel-like miniature 50 gallon drums (AKA known as WSM/WSSM cartridges).
