Winchester long beard XR

Everything between 2 birdshot and 4 buck would be better.

I have a 535 w/ Indian creek choke...and mine like plain old grey box winchester 3" #5 the best....patterned very well with #5 LB-XR [beeep]....seemed to shoot low....alot of loads seemed to shoot low actually. I think it was my point of aim [beeep]. Running a truglo bead sight on front and nothing else.....and u guys that think the 535 kicks too much are wussies....i shot 8 diff. 3.5" loads on easter and i didnt think it was any worse than my benelli super nova. It was less in fact.

Yesterday morning I dropped a 26 pound long beard at 62 yards with a 3.5 inch #6 out of my 870 super mag turkey with a tight wad choke tube. My buddy in the blind with me couldn't believe it, he refers to these shells as 'whammy shells' now

Finally jumped on the Longbeard bandwagon, from hevi-shot. I'm shooting an old Stoeger 2000 with a Dead Coyote choke tube. Number 6 Longbeards patterned 90% at 40 yards, and 82% at 50 yards. Tried some #5's, but not as good as the 6's.
Killed a bird last week at a lazered 50 yards with the #6's. Head looked like it had been thru a grinder, and he went down like a lightening bolt hit him. I had some doubts on the energy at the farther distances, but at 50 yards there is no doubt. I'm shooting 3" shells, and very impressed with the results. Too bad I bought all those hevi-shot.

I popped one yesterday at 35 yards with a 3" Longbeard #4 and he drop like he'd been pole axed.

Cleaned him up, not a pellet below the middle of him neck.

For half the price of Hevi shot it's worth buy'n 2 boxes of Longbeard

I was not impressed with it beyond 40 yds with my mossberg 500 and a primos titewad choke. Started dropping a lot after that. Shot 3 shots at 30, 3 at 40, 3 at 50 and the last at 60 just for the heck of it. Barely hit the paper at 60 and I even aimed slightly above the head on the target. I got pics of all the targets but I can't get the holes in the darkened area to show up on pics and don't much feel like coloring them all with marker. 30-40 yds they were close to the best I've patterned yet. If I had more time and money I'd get a choke for my new a5 and do some patterning, but that baby broke the bank

Was that shooting with a sight or bead-shot size? Not that it would make much difference.Any bird shot's going to start droping a good bit once you get beyond 40 yards.

Yeah I understand that, but their marketing ploy makes it sound so incredible. Shooting with a bead, no. 5's. all I could find, now I can't find any. So back to the heavy shot. Then I get to start patterning the new gun, hoping it's better than that 500, never have found a turkey or predator load that stands out after 40 yds.

It's still lead. These ads Winchester is running are ridiculous. It can't compare to tungsten based loads at longer distances. Yes, it patterns tight but it does not have the downrange energy as H-T-L loads. I'd like to see the same shells using hevishot encapsulated in resin.
