Winchester Model 12...

I just completed the deal on this 1960 Winchester Model 12 20 gauge with 26" Improved Cylinder barrel. Shows some honest hunting wear, a few dings in the stock finish, blue wear on the high points, no rust, and rattle-free, solid, and tight with a bright bore. Weight is 6.5 pounds. Should be a great gun to chase some bunnies behind a little pack of beagles. Maybe some dove hunting. The pictures show a reflection on the receiver, that is not blue wear. These are the seller's pictures.

congrats, great find.

borrowed my uncles model 12 for a deer hunt in U.P.Mich when I was still a teenager.
Uncle's gun looked just like yours.
Gun was fun to carry, but it had a tight chamber as I recall.
Vivid memories from that trip. Buddy & I got lost, never saw a deer.
On the 6 hr ride back home we survived a winter blizzard, continuous cross winds & drifts, not fun & I was driving.

IMO The Model 12s are one of the most iconic shotguns, along with the Browning Auto 5, Remington 11, Remington 31 and Remington 870.

I almost bought a 20 gauge Browning Model 12 the other day used in 90% condition. I just didn't want to spend $1250 for it.

I know a guy who has a thing for Win M12 410's. Several times I have been at an auction, called him about one and ended up bringing it home for him. Some at what I thought were crazy prices. He probably has enough for all his kids/grand kids.

Win Model 12's are about as "Americana" as it gets. I have my great grandfathers 16ga Model 12 that per the Ser. # is from 1914. It's just a garden variety plain barrel Model 12 16ga but I also have my grandfathers 12ga. Model 12 that dates early 1940's and is a nickel steel ribbed barrel model. Then I have three other Model 12's I got from my dad another 16ga and two 12ga one of those 12ga also has a solid rib.

For obvious reasons the first two of them I'd never sell but is there much market for Win Model 12's like there once was? Even if there's not they are still a cool ole gun.

GC that's a good looking one you have yourself congrats on the recent acquisition .
