Winter Olympics Sports that SHOULD be..

I was reading the thread regarding goofy winter sports and thought "what if we could design our own"?

So, what off-the-wall, whacky winter events SHOULD be in the Olympics?

Snow shoveling long driveways
pushing stranded automobiles on ice
sitting in a treestand for longest duration in a blizzard
skinning coyotes during a snowstorm
changing a flat tire on the side of the interstate during a Pacific Northwest thunderstorm!

Full-contact figure skating. Put them all on the ice at once and give them nun-chuks or crowbars. Tanya Harding meets UFC.

I just seen where Half pipe BMX was going to be in the summer games /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

I thought thats what the x-games were for.

How about "Setting up an 8-man tent in a blizzard?" I starred in that sport one time in a weird-for-the-time-and-place snowstorm in West Alabama, of all places. It would really be a "cool" event in about a foot of snow with a 40 mph wind blowing.

One word: "Ratings."

The Olympics need far more viewers!

I don't agree with BMX being an olympic sport.

+1 on the tent competition. A buddy and I once had to break camp in a blizzard at 10,000 feet. I'm sure we didn't win any medals for style, bu boy were we fast!

I know it one of those "shot right at sundown things huh" been there done that with a doe a few years back.

What about high speed trap setting. You could be judged for stunt points on your style and volume while getting your fingers smashed in a 330.

Or bobcat releasing. Had a guy call me and ask me to help him take a bobcat out of a snare. I was smart enough to ask the question..."Is it dead or alive" He stated is was alive in a snare with a deer lock on it. That was a wild ride letting loose a bobcat (season was closed)on a 6 foot wire and the cat had full lung capacity going for him because of the deer lock. Judged on time, blood shed, creativity, and language.
