Wisconsin Coyote weights?????

Hey Wi hunters, has anyone been weighing there coyotes????
I keep hearing about "Big ones" going 40+ pounds, even pushing 50, but am not sure if these are weighed or just estimates after the long drag back to the truck----- which has been know to add about 40% to their weight /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

I weighed 3 this year (out of curiosity) shot in N.E. WI. They were weighed on a previously certified scale left over from the family butcher business, so I do believe it to be very close to correct.

One was a good sized male ----- 35#
one was a smaller female-- on the lite side of 25#
and a mature female ----- 30#

The reason I ask is that I have yet to shoot anything or personally see one that was shot that pushes 50# in my area /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif. (although they feel that heavy by the time they get to the truck).

Is there that big a difference in weight from areas so close to each other????? Am I hunting in a "small" zone here or what???? I know I have shot some nice mature heathy yotes in this area but the scale is making me feel bad /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
 
Unseen THE 40-50 LB. COYOTE IS AROUND BUT NOT TO MANY THE WEIGHT IS LIKELY ESTIMATED I MISSED ONE THIS YEAR THAT MAY HAVE GONE 40# AND HE WAS A BIGGIN MOST SHOT DOWN HERE NEAR MADISON AREA 20-30 LBS.
 
They run bigger here in PA.Adult females go between 30-35lbs typically while males can reach into the high forties.The heaviest I have actually seen shot was one my dad took,a 51lb male. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
 
Now I don't feel bad for only shooting "light ones". I got some really nice looking hides this year to tan and that was my goal anyway.

I'll have to estimate blood loss in the field and add that to the weight when I tell my "fish stories" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

add atleast 15 to 25Lbs for that blood loss. yeah we actualy get something good here in the east. coyotes are much larger.
 
A few years ago while hunting deer around LaCrosse we saw one that had been killed during a deer drive. Guys had it on the roof of the car and it looked like a small doe. Don't know what it weighed but it could have been 65 or 70! Had a light reddish blond color. Maybe it was a coydog?
