Wolf bullets

I just drew my wolf tag for season B in MN. I am taking my DPMS PH in .223 with Hornady 55 gr GMX Superformance, 1-6x24 scope with illum center dot. 0.5" groups at 100 yards. I will also take my kimber 84M in 308 with my favorite load - 150 gr Hornady IB topped with Burris 3-9x40 FF E1 with BP E1 illum reticle. I am not sure what the hunt situation will be. I am hoping I will be ready for close and fast moving or long and steady shots. Definatly low light capable. Wish me luck

Good luck. !!! Sounds like you are well set up will you be ghille suited? Wolves recognize the human form so its good to break it up.

Yes. I have a pop-up which is semi-mobile. It will have to do. Any hunting advise is greatly appreciated.

If you have snow, and you can wear blaze camo. Ide try to get some of that RealTree AP blaze camo also.
As I'm not at all familiar with the area you will be hunting I can't really give advice except to be as near to perfect with your rifle as possible. You should flat out OWN everything inside 300 yards rapidly from field positions. And be able to repeat your shots fast. . Practice practice practice. !!!

Thanks. There will be northwoods and more northwoods. I might get a 300 yard shot if close to the edge of an opening. But I have heard wolves get really cautious when approaching open areas.

Wolves tend to stay at the edges of the tree line and when they have to cross an open area they don't waste any time doing it. Watch the shadowed areas.
