(CBS) UPPER DARBY, Phila.- Police said that two women were kicked out of a McDonald's in suburban Philadelphia for allegedly engaging in sexual relations in the bathroom, and were attacked by a group of customers once they exited the restaurant, reported Philly.com.
Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said that around 5 p.m. on Wednesday several customers approached the manager of a McDonald's to report the women, according to the website.
When the women exited the fast food joint, said Chitwood, the group of 7 or 8 people who had complained about the women's behavior allegedly started to assault them, reported Philly.com.
Authorities said that one of the women who was kicked out of the McDonald's was supposedly stabbed in the shoulder with an unidentified object by a woman who had two children with her, according to the site.
Police convinced the stabbing victim to go to the hospital to get treated for her wound. She was later released, said Philly.com.
The site reported that the victims said the suspects used derogatory language toward them during the attack.
One customer found the female couple's behavior odd, telling the station, "Everybody should do their own thing but doing it at 5 o'clock in the afternoon in a McDonald's bathroom - whether you're female and female, female and male or male and male - what the f---?"
According to Philly.com, police are working on obtaining surveillance footage from the McDonald's to try to identify the attackers.
