Working up 30-06 loads help

If you want a great 180 bullet for the 06, the Sierra 180gr. Pro Hunter is hard to beat. Maybe not the best, but still hard to beat. Try 57.5 gr of IMR 4831 and see what happens. Sierra's hard hard to beat in any caliber.

most rifles decide what it likes,mine likes npts nbts speer grandslams and 165/168 barnes and lives for cor-lokts.if my hand loads shoot as good as CLs ive got a great load.the only 180s i load at all in the 06 is grandslams.the 165s of today do what old 180s use to,imho

I know I'm a little late here but just my 2 cents. I have been using 58grns of IMR4350 behind a 150gr Sierra game king for about 15 yrs now. Sub MOA and drops whitetails and mulies like a rock. I would step up in weight for elk. Although I've never had an elk hunting opportunity, I'm sad to say.
