World Coyote Hunt!

I am in awe! the blow by blow was incredible, on a good day I can get in 12 stands, when you shoot 16 in one day that has to be a record for any coyote contest anywhere! I remember when Sam Dudley from Arizona shot 10 dogs no farther than 10 miles from blythe Ca. and that was unheard of. Day time hunting too. I wonder if the technology (electronics vs hand calls has made the difference?) Would a guy like Sam Dudley do better with an electronic call? I would like to hear what other contests have produced, I do not think it could be any more than 16 in a day. Physically it would be tough. What you say?
Interesting that the top 4 teams were from Utah. These guys have shot all the dogs in Utah and are expanding their territory.

I have pics of checkin and the awards, I will try and get them up when Crapshoot can help, might be a few days. Thanks for the good words, good luck and good callin, Al.

Awesome AL,

Man that is awesome and I wish you guys many more. Thanks for the replay, I love the way you guys hunt. That is a ton of stands to get to in one day. You guys scouted very well and did what you had to do. You hunted your tails off and ended up with a pile of fur. I love "run and gun" hunting, its all we seem to do, I cant seem to make myself stay seated for 15 minutes. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif At 12 we are usually doing the serious "look around". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Congrats once agian! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif See you at SHOT!

Thought I would post info here so when people do a search for World Coyote Calling info here it is. To participate in 2008 you need to contact Bill Countess at B-970-533-7117 home # and I know you wont call after 9PM 970-533-7493 He will talk to you, send application and hopefully you are in. We truly want it to be a "World" hunt and we dont want to exclude anyone--unless they hug bunnys or trees or you understand. I love to hug coyotes and elk and other--well never mind if you want in here is your chance. Good luck and good hunting, happy holidays and shoot straight. Al.

Great play by play. congrats to you guys and everybody else. Sounds like a great hunt I wish it did not fall during Kansas' deer season every year.
