X360 - I changed my mind

I slammed the x360 in another thread as being over kill. I changed my mind and bought one. I did it for four reasons:

1. The sounds will randomly move speaker to speaker. This seems a good simulation of a real animal. They just don’t scream in one direction.

2. The sound quality is beyond amazing.

3. 7 speakers. The debate on calling with the wind in your face or at your back is over. This thing calls in all directions.

4. Foxpitch - I can make a popular sound like “Lightning Jack” different than the last 5 guys that called my area.

I am only planning to use it night hunting near the car. When I need to do some walking in the day time, I will handcall or use my x24.

My first outing will be tomorrow night. I will report back on what I learn.

Cost and carry weight are the 2 biggest deterrents for me. A close third are all the emails I keep getting from FoxPro about updates for it. Are there still issues with the call? I know they held off for a long time on the release. I've said before, I have no issues with the X24, and if I was in the market I think I'd seriously consider the X48.

I thought they were out before the 360, but looking at various sights now, they are showing as out of stock or backordered. It's not showing at all on the Foxpro site. Good thing I'm not looking to upgrade.

This unit is should not have been released.

1. The TX2000 freezes up. The batteries have to be removed to restart it.
2. The mute function is malfunctioning. When you enter a sound and mute the caller, it still plays.
3. The base unit plays two sounds at once intermittently.
4. The TX2000 time out function is also defective. It times out way too early even when set properly.

The sound is good. But, these things should not be happening on a $1500 caller. It is going back for a refund.

Because I want to be honest and fair to Foxpro ... I have a good friend that bought one at the exact same time. He has not experienced any of these problems.

I have been using Foxpro since 2006. I have owned the FX3, FX5, Fury, Fusion, Shockwave and x24. So, it is not my first rodeo.

I am puzzled why I had such a hard time.

Sorry to hear your troubles with the caller. It’s not anything that I’m even remotely interested in personally. But for those of you that invested in one, it should be a solid, dependable unit! I hope it all ends well buddy.

Coyotes have been dying for decades without 7 speakers, remote scales and 4 wheel drive, or whatever else they’ve crammed into that thing.

Now my friend is having problems with the x360. The call randomly stops playing and has problems with the mute button. It is a very expensive caller that was released too early.

The x360 reminds me of fishing lures. Fishing lures are primarily designed to catch the fisherman, not the fish.

The x360 did not call in any more coyotes than my x24.

Sorry, kind of funny.

It actually is. I have learned in my 63 years how to laugh at myself. I should have known better.

I am an engineer. Most small companies release products too early because they are desperate to bring in sales and make payroll. Firmware is not easy to get right the first time. I fell for the whiz bang features against my better judgement.

I am sure in 6-12 months they will work out the bugs. I just shouldn't have volunteered at my own expense to be their beta tester.
