xd 45 or glock 21 in 45

I sure do like the xd-40. So much so, every time i buy one I dont shoot it, then end up selling it, then I for some reason buy another one. Sounds crazy but i am a little crazy! The do feel very good to me, I just need to make time to shoot it. The last one i bought came with a insight rail mounted light. I use the excuse that- this would be the perfect home protection pistol for the upstairs table top safe. But as we all know a pistol is probably the worst gun you could use in an emergency situation. Unless you are extremely familiar with your weapon, and i am not. But the excuse worked for me!! Lee
 
My father in law has a Glock 21. I've shot it and really liked it. One of the few pistols I was able to pick up and really hit with right off. However, for me the grip is a handful. I've only handled the XD but was impressed with it. I would like to shoot the compact along with a Glock model 30 so I could make up my mind what my next carry pistol will be.
