XG50 vs XP50 PRO

Actually for coyote hunting in open terrain I would rather have the 3x base mag of the XG over the 2x of the Pro.

So you have the XG50?
Do you like it?

I personally do not but my best hunting partner does and he absolutely loves it. I have two other buddies that bought them and they have limited use with them but so far they are happy as well. They have a very very nice image, good base mag for longer shots, buy with confidence!

Well I guess if this all goes south I'll just blame you.

I closed my eyes and ordered one. My 11 and 13 year old can't wait for it to get here.

Haha, well I have faith and I'm looking forward to hearing your experiences and even more so of seeing some pictures of your boys getting some kills with it!

Please follow up with your thoughts and experiences, I'm sure there's guys just like you that don't post but would love to hear!

Will do. They had some pretty good videos from last year. (ATN night vision sniper hig light coyote cannon) They need to put them together and throw them on YouTube.

Being a bolt guy l just have more faith in the gun attachment system. Actually on native mag l don’t see much difference but do see difference in zoom.
I do think the sh is better penetrating high humidity, fog, and drizzle. I did a side by side comparison last week from my garage in those conditions out to 170yds. Not much but just seemed a little sharper edges.

I've used both extensively. I feel the XP50 has a slightly better picture. Biggest difference is the 2x base mag on XP and 3x base mag on XG.

Would anyone choose the newer Thermion 2 XQ50 Pro over the XG50, & why? That $3500 range is my limit (well, above my limit, but...)

Especially when the XG50 is a 640 and the XQ50 is 384. I’m not sure why either.

A friend of mine had the xg 50 and did not like it. He said it did not have a good picture on low mag setting. He sold it for an xp 50 Thermion 2 and likes it a lot better.

I haven't been around anyone using a XG50 to compare with my XQ50, but so far I'm happy with my XQ50.
There are some videos out showing comparison of the scopes. Might look them up and see what they look like.
I wanted the larger base image because I am hunting wide open spaces. That and cost were my main decision makers.

The XG50 was 3399.00 compared to a XP50 pro for 5,000.00. Is there a 1600.00 difference in clarity between the two? I have a Helion 2 XP50 pro scanner. The Helion may or may not have a little better image than the XG50 scope but not 1600.00 worth. That’s just my opinion. So far I’m happy with the scope.

I have the Trail 2 xQ50 and the sale priced Thermion xG50. I would buy the xG for image quality that you're not really paying for at that price point. It does not pixelate like the xQ when jumping from 3x base mag to 6x or 12x. 24x is pixelated.
