Pulsar has stopped supporting the helion I am told, so the can not fix my handheld. Expensive paper weight. I want to purchase a new unit from Cabelas because I have enough points to cover the purchase. Looking at the axion xg30 vs the telos xq35. Which would be a better unit? Both are about the same price. I see the axion is a 640 while the telos is not. But the telos appears to be the higher model? Too many specs that don't mean much to me. Coming from a XP28, it looks like the axion has a larger field of view and is a 640 so on paper seems like a no brainer? Recommendations?

Did you call and ask if this is the case? I have a Helion XP28 and a XP38 I bought as backup as well as an Iray Zoom ZH38. Has the same FOV as the Helion XP28 and then it can be zoomed up to the same as an XP50.

I have an XP50 Telos it is very nice the new Orxy is less money and about the same field of view. The Telos shows a more detailed picture. The Telos l have is a 640 and the unit is upgradeable so if you want to go better in a few years you can.

What went wrong with the helion?
At first it would not turn off. I had to pull the battery for it to turn off. I would turn it off, it would seem like it was going to turn off and then power right back up. Then one day I got a mass storage error on the screen. I power cycled it and it never turned back on. I sent it to Pulsar and they said they are no longer supporting the Helion.

I ended up going with a Rix Titan T6. Got it for $1800 new in box. I didn't want to spend that much on a Telos and the Axion didn't have the size of viewing screen I was looking for. looks like a good unit

I will probably try and sell the XP28 lens if anyone is interested
