Yes they actually do eat each other as many of us already know.
This mangy ol girl was slinking below us last eve and stayed in the tall grass chomping on something and made me wonder why she was not at the dead pile eating steak 30 feet from her.
I was thinking they had drug a leg from the cow and into the tall stuff for safer eating. My pal shot her and we saw that other coyotes had drug the 4 we shot last week and left in a pile off into the tall grasses to eat instead of the cow.
So we drug them all back to the open area and re-piled them back up.
Maybe she thought if she ate the nice healthy furred one that would transform her back to normal...ha

That's interesting for sure. I don't think a new coat will help her with that severe lead allergic reaction.

Those are both prime furred up coyotes! Prolly no sewing up any holes on those

From what I have seen, when they start eating something dead- a lot of the time they start at the anus... Looks like on that coyote they started on a bullet hole... An assumption but a hole is a hole...

Shooting the mangy one was a mercy killing. I doubt it was far from death without being helped along. Probably saved some others from the same misery catching mange from her.
Its about to start breeding season and a female in heat with mange may infect several males and in tern they may infect other females. Monogamy is not a coyote trait.

That's funny, I always remember being so perplexed as a kid as to why all the cows in our dead piles had their arses eaten out. I know its because of the soft tissue, but I'm much more of a finicky eater than most yotes.

I have hauled enough cows out of ada and okc to know what is in spam and hot dogs guess when its cooked its fine I wont eat it I wont eat it the only thing that will eat a dead coyote here is a buzzard was at a place where I skinned 2 last week and they had not been moved coyote tracks around but they didn't touch them when I left there was 2 more under the same tree
