Has anyone tried one of the Yildiz side by side .410 shotguns? They look very interesting, changeable chokes are a nice feature not commonly found on the .410 especially at the lower price points

What kind of price are we looking at for one of those?

I know I can look up MSRP, but what are they actually selling for in the stores?

Personally I haven't seen one up here, a friend that lives down south told me Academy has them for sale in the $450-$500 range for side by sides and over unders depending on grades, they include all 5 chokes as well.

I was hoping to get some user feedback because if nobody's been having big issues with them I want to order one up here.
 
I've never heard of these guns but I just got done doing a google search and came up with a lot of reviews and forum discussions on them. I'm interested in a light 20 ga either SXS or O/U and their guns in that category weigh about 5 and half lbs. I would be interested in looking at one but apparently only Academy sells them. None of their stores around here
 
I have a friend that has a 12 guage O/U. He bought it for an entry level skeet gun. He said the action was a bit stiff, but he smoothed it out some how and other than that he seems to really like it. I've seen them at Academy and they have some nice wood and the fit and finish seems nice also. They also have one with alot of engraving on it that really pretty. Thats about all I know about them.
 
I just cant see buyin one in .410, its cool but jeezus shells are expensive. I sold my .410 cause it really wasnt worth it to shoot it. $10 for 25 cheap 2-1/2" skeet loads, and $20 for 100 12 gauge skeet loads.

Depends if you reload your own like I do, the .410 uses less powder and shot so it's cheaper for me.

That is true, i never thought of that. I thought about reloading before selling mine but it was gonna be to expensive to get into just for the .410, and its hard to justify it for the 12ga/20ga shells

$450 for an over under is not bad at all, the cheapest ive seen has been the mossberg one they sell at dicks for about $600. Maybe some day when i have too much money ill grab one of these .410 over unders. Shooting clays with a .410 sure puts the challenge back into it.

A buddy of mine has an over under shotgun (Yildiz) and used it for about two months brand new from Academy. One day he was at the skeet range and the barrel blew up and cracked the wooden forend. He was using standard skeet and dove load you can get at Academy and Wal-mart (not hand loads or anything like yall might be thinking). No, he didnt get hurt either...
Luckily it was covered under the Yildiz warranty but he just got it back after more than 4 months after he sent it in to them. They claim to have only one gunsmith. However, when he got the gun back, the barrel was fixed but the gun would not mate together and the forend was still cracked! He has to send it back again...Not my experience, but the only experience I have witnessed with these guns. They look nice, just might be a little junky...If something happens to go wrong, you may not see your gun again till the next year. NOT COOL...

I've got a Stoeger O/U and it's OK but doesn't look nearly as nice as the Yildiz offerings, no changeable chokes in the .410 and the wood/receiver aren't even in the same league as the pics I've seen.
