Your favorite/ace in the hole sounds for calling pressured/educated coyotes?

Mouth calls. Preferably a custom call from one of the many call makers on this forum. I know that when using a mouth call nobody hunting the same coyotes is sounding exactly the same as I am. Which sounds I choose to make is often determined by my location, weather, and time of year.

A soft subtle howl. Nothing real exciting. Do it first thing on my setup, wait a few minutes then go into whatever sound I will be using. But, lots of times I've had them come into just the howls

I don't think there's an actual right answer to this. I think it's a day by day thing. Some days coyotes come and some days they could care less what sound they hear. But if you want an answer, then I'd say use chucker killing a garter snake..lol. Guarantee no coyote has heard that sound. Or vocals. Ha!

Considering I live in Central Cali, you dont ever have to worry about me calling your country; wherever that may be.

Ive been a hand caller for over 20 years but I actually just bought an e caller...I kinda like it for many circumstances. That being said, I still carry and use my hand calls.

Obviously you realize that you are not the only one that views this thread.I just looked and there have been 153 views.... And I'm sure some of them are from my neck of the woods.

Just call where nobody else goes. I have a few places on public land that nobody would even think about calling yet they keep producing coyoteß year after year and some are of them are only a hundred yards from à parking area. What you call them with irrelevant.

I think educated yotes are like turkeys. Say hi, then shut up lol. I might put on kitten distress at a low volume to keep eyes focused on something other than me if one gets close. I figure if they come to the howl then they will probably commit to meal while they are that close. I am in south central Illinois though in timber and ag area. I think the game is a little tougher here.

I have to figure something out. I am hunting a new ranch that no one has called that I know of. Its all private about 6,000 acres, but these are the toughest coyotes Ive ever hunted. Im about to post a thread about it and see what people think about what is going on out here. Stay tuned.

Coyotes are just like people. There is no accounting for peoples and coyotes taste. Them Cali coyotes probably like veggies and tofu. Try the sound of munching on a carrot.

Thanks,
Josh IDK, but I hunt Cali a lot...that state has one of the "MOST" coyote populations outta all of the states...it's not like we're huntin big game....(where you would possibly get a true answer) might wanna change it up....why would someone give you their "ACE" call. Think you have might have to find that out for yourself?
