Dave
you sure do spend a lot of time thinking about me and talking about me. Is there anything you need to tell everyone? LOL
Guys it is simple. I love shooting and guns. I am married with two little girls and all my childhood friends are in the same boat. I enjoy and respect most of the people here and i listen to what you guys have to say. I enjoy that. I am 33 years old and still very much a kid at heart. Life is to short to only shoot one gun or look through one scope. I want them all and i want them now. I love to socialise in fellow shooters circles. So what if i am a bit Goofy, I would gladly do most anything for you people without question. I am just a kid at heart that truly loves the life i have been blessed with. And to top of a almost perfect day, My 5 year old little girl just won the little miss bagelfest pageant! Ya Hoo!!!! I also had an 8 year old in the pageant and she was 3rd. My life is a total joy. I am sorry if i rub anyone the wrong way here, i dont USUALLY mean to. that's ALL I am sure some of you will have fun ripen this up too. Oh well, no sweat. Lee

Back to the topic at hand. My vote go's to the .25-06 as well because it's what I have the most experience with. Although I have heard great things about the .280 and .260 in an AI flavor(particularly the .260 as far as accuracy is concerned) so I don't think you couldn't go wrong with any of the three.

You're delusional.

Ackman- thanks for the kind words! Dave there you go again, just cant leave it alone. To everyone else thanks for your insight. I think the 25-06 would make a great choice, but i have been wanting a 243AI for some time. However I was given a rifle that has a long action, and my choice will have to be a 6mmAI. It is the closed i can come to the 243Ai and use the rifle i was given.
I really dont understand why the Marlin MR-7 didnt make a go. They seem to be a really thought out rifle. It is truly one of the finest feeling rifles i have felt in a while. The action is smooth, and the drop out magazine is definitely a plus. I only wish is was a short action. I think this will make a fine medium bore rifle, for coyote hunting. Again thanks for those that helped. I really like knowing how other people think,, It gives me a perspective on all sides. Plus i just like to read. And to the same old hand full of guys i have been dealing with for the past 2 years, well, I just hope life gets a little better for ya! Lee

Favorite long action cartridge?

Have to agree with the 280 Ackley. I love mine.

For long range varmint? I would have to go with the 25-06, 6mm Rem., or the 6mm Ackley.

.338 Win Mag A little much for coyotes, although a 210 grain Nosler Partition at 2900 fps would do the job. With the 210's, 225's or 250 grain bullets anything in North America is fair game.
