Your ideal tattoo

I have a few my latest was my sons hand print over my heart and his date of birth I have my first deer on my right arm and a medicine man ( showing some heritage ) on my left shoulder I have pics of my best coon hound treed that will go on my back and my next will be a cross on my forarm I have my reasons for all of these my coon hound on my back cause he will never leave me and always have my back my sons hand print where it is because that was the day he touched my heart and the cross it will remind me that I have to work harder on being the type of christian that I need to be for myself and family ( plus I work in the prision system and the muslems like to start the conversations about the cross, planting seeds ) so yea put thought into it of course it had to be somewhat original.

Nothing in life is permanent, but a tattoo is guaranteed for ten years after you die. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Pick something you want to see the rest of your life.

No girlfriend or wife names.

Put it somewhere where it can be covered with normal clothing (short sleeve shirt)

I have a couple and one is the length of my right forearm. Got it in my 20s. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I like it and don't regret this particular tattoo but wish I'd got that one in a more discreet location. I've walked in for job interviews a couple times with short sleeves and the first thing I see is their eyes go straight to my forearm. You know what they say about first impressions. You can see the wheels start spinning. When applying for some jobs it could be a career limiting factor I think. Especially if you are applying for high visibility position that might involve any kind of PR related duties.

Show us what you get.

I got this one shortly before I turned 40. I guess I was having a mid-life crisis and I couldn't afford a Harley or a Corvette. I looked around and thought about it for a long time. I tried real hard to come up with something original and unique. I'll always be happy with this one.

As you can see I found the [beeep] pills and ate the whole bottle. Don't do it. Long sleeve shirts at work during 100 degree weather is not fun.

Absolutely no disrespect meant- but that's like asking what a gun costs. I depends on how much money you want to throw away /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The top one would be very expensive in terms of causing you to never live any type of normal life. The bottom one is very funny,my wife just told me not to even think about it. I have 7 different tats. Only one is in a location where it is normal to see it,that being my right inside forearm.I decided that at my age and point in life if someone didn't want to look at it then they would just have to kiss my rosy red.2 years ago I was put on the waiting list for a heart transplant. The Drs gave me less than 6 months to live and sent me home to wait. I am living proof of the power of prayer. To make a long story short, I prayed for the Lord to lift my burden and he did, in fact, quickly.Lots of family and friends also prayed. Today, I have healed, taken off the transplant list, back at work and hunting full bore. The Drs are amazed, said they've never seen this before. No restrictions, check up with Cardiologist once a year.Last check up showed heart function comparable to a 40 year old athlete, I'm 59.Therefore since the Lord loved me enough to save my life, I felt the least I could do is advertise for Him. My forearm shows a Cross made of the rusty nails that pierced our Lord with a crown of thorns on top. This generates many comments out in the world and gives me the chance to tell my story and give people hope and maybe open some eyes.

Right now if I do a tattoo Im thinking about my Dog's face or name. Im losing her, she will not be here shortly, Im praying, but I dont think its going to do much good.

The other thing is a coyote in the moonlight or with a cactus.

I don't have any tatoos yet, as I haven't figured out what I want, if I get one. If I do, I believe I'll get a pair of face-on, hard charging coyotes.

Tony

Tony face on might be hard to do how bout quartering to you and the you are looking through the scope at them with the word choice below it or who's first

Although I don't have any tattoos I nevertheless like them. I think all women should have one that starts out by saying, PROPERTY OF........... done

NONE

Grizz here...
I don't understand tattoos.
My wife was thinking of getting one. I told her it better not be anything more than maby a pair of cherrys on one of her cheeks ! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I want to get a tattoo that looks exactly like myself all over my body......except taller. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
No but seriously I have thought about gettin a tattoo but I know myself well enough not too.I would think it was cool for about a month or so then I would think it was stupid and want to take it off.Either that or a friend of mine would get a cooler one and I would have to out do him and get another and before I knew it I would have a bunch of em'.Plus its kind of hard choosing somethin awesome enough that I would want it to be a part of me until the day I die.Knowing my luck I would walk up to a friend "Hey look at my tattoo!!!" and he would say "Cool I got one just like it yesterday." and everyone would think we got matching tattoos or somethin and that wouldnt be right at all. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

While I've thought a few times over the years of getting a tattoo, I've never convinced myself to do it.
(On an ironic side note, both my ex-wives swore they would never get tats. Shortly after each divorce was thru, they each got tats. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif Go figure.)

My oldest son has a couple of tats. The best by far, being a "copy" of a dragon that he drew himself when he was 16. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif It's on his upper right arm/shoulder.
His wife has a couple small tats.
And my "middle" son, got 1 while in the Army. Don't remember now what it is. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I've always felt that IF I ever convince myself to get 1, I'd either get some form of the Grim Reaper, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif or something with a coyote. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
