Ziess

Need opinions please. A local shop has a used Ziess Conquest, 6.5-20. I know its an older model because it has an adjustable objective and an illumination knob on the side. Other than an older model is it worth $350? It's clear and in pretty decent shape. I was wanting it for my Cooper 22 PPC.

I played with a FFP Ziess years ago, I was blown away at the glass clarity. It was kind of weird as I was used to looking through potatoes.

I've been looking for something "classy" for the Cooper. I don't want a big clunky Tactical scope on this rifle. Yes. it is very cosmetic but I want quality to. I know, I know, I'm pretty anal about how my rifles look to.

those older conquest scopes were usually put together by meopta in the US factory in new york. Frankly there is a lot of optics that are far far less quality you could buy new. I say buy that all day long. even though I don't need it. I would be tempted to buy it at that price.

Good price on good quality. I have been a Leupold customer for many years and still am a huge fan, but Leupold still does not offer hydrophobic coating so that had me looking around. Even though the Conquest you are referring to most likely doesnt have the Lucotec hydrophobic coating, the image quality of the Zeiss's I now own are exceptional. Dont think u can go wrong with that deal

I just pulled a Zeis Conquest HD 5-25x50 w/RZ800 reticle off one of my 22-250's They're a great scope. If I had to pick it apart about the only thing I could really fault it for is the subtension thickness is a little on the thickish side but for ageing eyes and quick action shots especially in lower light conditions I can't really say it's always been a bad thing.

My favorite scopes are early 2000 Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14’s, and I’ve got a few of them. I’d absolutely pay $350 for the scope in question.

Went back to the pawn shop to see what I could do on the Zeiss and it was gone. At first I was disappointed in myself for waiting to long and missing out, but then the store owner came over and told me it was gone but it was also a fake. (Not a real Zeiss.) Nice enough for a fake but not a real Zeiss. He's a member of my gun club and I guess he saved me some money in the long run. I never give a minutes thought that it was fake.
