I have never passed up a shot, almost all have been around deer season, our turkey and other game birds are on a decline for more than 1 reason. A yote is a fine turkey hunter and bobcats are also. In Tn they have started a night hunt with shotguns only, yotes and bobcats are the target, closed during deer season to keep down deer poaching. it will be a few years I would think before any numbers can be given. I am doubtful it will help much reading others thoughts, most want a rifle and refuse to follow the law, TWRA has been handcuffed to go onto properties to enforce the laws, warrants now have to be gotten, no open field doctrine allowed in Tn. I know what damage they do as I have found piles of feathers over the years, I wont give them any breaks.
