Thought I would put this out there for some.
I bought the 6mm Arc BCA upper 18" Side charger a while back.
It shot ok. Not great. Not terrible.
Had a plan to put a barrel on it anyway if it didn't shoot well.
Well I bought a Barrel. I bought a Rexus Outfitters 20".
Barrel came in an looked great.
Bought a few other small parts from Rexus as well. Nothing major just small items
So pulled the AR tools out and tore the upper down to Barrel and Upper Receiver.
When I went to take the Barrel nut off. It was so tight it was unreal. I thought maybe there was some type of locktite or something maybe on the threads. So got a torch out and heated up the Barrel Nut. Still wouldn't budge.
When it did finally break loose it sheared the pin off the barrel extension, trashed the upper receiver and the Barrel nut.
Needless to say I was not happy at all.
So now I have to make a choice and either buy a new Upper with the side charger setup from BCA. Which only comes with a BCG which I don't need since mine is fine for $135
Or convert the upper to a normal Rear charging style rifle.
I have a spare stripped upper. But would have to buy a BCG and handguard since I cant fine the same style nut that BCA uses for their Handguard.
Needless to say I was a tad pissed about it all. And not sure if ill be buying anything else from BCA.
