Just a bit more info for Bear Creek Arsenal for you all

Thought I would put this out there for some.
I bought the 6mm Arc BCA upper 18" Side charger a while back.
It shot ok. Not great. Not terrible.
Had a plan to put a barrel on it anyway if it didn't shoot well.

Well I bought a Barrel. I bought a Rexus Outfitters 20".
Barrel came in an looked great.
Bought a few other small parts from Rexus as well. Nothing major just small items

So pulled the AR tools out and tore the upper down to Barrel and Upper Receiver.
When I went to take the Barrel nut off. It was so tight it was unreal. I thought maybe there was some type of locktite or something maybe on the threads. So got a torch out and heated up the Barrel Nut. Still wouldn't budge.

When it did finally break loose it sheared the pin off the barrel extension, trashed the upper receiver and the Barrel nut.
Needless to say I was not happy at all.
So now I have to make a choice and either buy a new Upper with the side charger setup from BCA. Which only comes with a BCG which I don't need since mine is fine for $135

Or convert the upper to a normal Rear charging style rifle.
I have a spare stripped upper. But would have to buy a BCG and handguard since I cant fine the same style nut that BCA uses for their Handguard.

Needless to say I was a tad pissed about it all. And not sure if ill be buying anything else from BCA.

Just thought I would put this out there for some.

Curious to see how they handle your situation.

hmm If I order from them maybe the best would be the upper without barrel. As I know I would want to do a barrel change.

I’d be interested to see how it gets handled as well. That would be frustrating. I would try emailing and/or calling about the situation.

I wouldn't buy anything from BCA nor would I expect them to do anything about your situation.

Every time we all start messing with factory stuff there's a risk of voiding any type of liability or responsibility on the part of the maker... and that's for their own protection.

Scrap/sell of what you have and start new. AR15 parts prices are pretty low right now, the market is saturated and there's a lot of overflow.

Good luck getting your set up back up and running.

I've bought 2 BCA uppers 6arc 6.5 grendel.Just because I was interested in them. Both shoot good enough to make me happy but they will not shoot internet groups. 15 shot groups around an inch to inch and a quarter at 100. They are fine for what they do and their price. Did have problems with the 6 arc at first but was my fault.

I have one upper from them, side charger 18" SS 223 Wyde. I haven't shot any factory rds thru it, but several different bullet/powder combinations have all been good prairie dog quality accuracy. Some right around 1/2" five shot groups. The barrel on mine was one of the best finished bores I have borescoped( almost cut rifle smooth).

This is my BCA 22wmr upper at 100yd. Cci tnt ammo. Had a couple hang ups right away but now it runs fine with everything. When they shoot, they are dang accurate

What brand lower/mag are you using? Semi auto or bolt upper?

Me? Just a standard milspec lower with milspec trigger. Black dog makes the mags for them. Its semi-auto. I would definitely suggest one if anyone is interested in a range gun or small/medium varmint gun. It shoots everything i have tried in it around MOA at 50, and at or just over MOA at 100 but i dont have a lot of range time at 100 yet. Ive tried 7 or 8 different rounds in it so far, it liked the cci or federal TNT the best but everything has been fox or cat capable accuracy. Heck probably squirrel accuracy.

Its not super cheap like 22lr but it feels better at the range, it hits hard on steel and you dont get all the gas blowback like 223.

I am excited to chase after some fox with it this winter

you aboolutely need to contact bca about warranty service.

even though it damaged when you were taking it apart, them putting it togther out of spec makes them liable.

give them a shout, explain what happened and see what they say. i bet you'll be pleasantly supprised. their CS dept is pretty skookum

Group yesterday with a BCA upper... but built/put together with Bedding into with High Quality Barrel, Bolt, Firing pin, Adj. gas block, Quality Handguard/barrel nut, and Muz. attachment . Basically building with everything Not BCA , except for their Upper Receiver. .. LOL

Back in May I decided to try one of the BCA bolt-action uppers. It was the Wylde chambering with an 18" stainless black barrel with bear claw fluting. Actually intended to break it down and use my 16" Satern barrel on it. Much to my surprise it turned out to be more than adequate as it was. During break-in I found a loading quickly that worked well and fired this 100 yard 3 shot group that went .316. The next day I set up the same target and fired another 3 shot group just to see how consistent it would be from one day to the next. This group along with the first group went .432. I now have a couple hundred rds. through it and it shoots far better than I hoped and so I never made the barrel switch.

I had a spare lower sitting around so I got a complete bolt action upper from BCA. I paid about $220 and hoped it would shoot although I had my doubts. The first thing I noticed was the bolt did not work quite the same as my other bolt action rifles. I played around with it for a day or so and learned how to work the bolt, I shot bullets from 50-69 gr all were under an inch. The 1 thing I don't like is when you clean you must remove 2 screws to remove the bolt handle in order to remove the bcg. These uppers don't work with all after market triggers For the money spent I think it was a bargain. Uintah precision is most likely a better upper but cost 5-6 times more $. The reason I bought this upper was to see if I would like a bolt action in an AR platform.

Well, do you like the bolt AR?
