22ARC

I wanted to shoot the 62 ELD-VT, and they were decent, but not great. My barrel just didn't like them quite enough I guess. I switched to the 53 v-max, and everything came together.
This is a from a 7 twist 18" AR.

- 31.8 Staball Match
- 53 V-max, 1.655 CBTO
- CCI BR4
- 1x Hornady brass
- Crimped with Lee crimp die
~3250 FPS

I got my 8 twist to shoot the 62s, but it likes them hot. I can’t really list the load here because I’m using HBN, because I have a lot of it and I don’t wish to just throw it away, so my loads are a little different than yours would be. I will say that I have found that TAC and 2230 have worked well for me so far.

I did find some good loads for the Hornady 52 and 55 BTHP bullets from Midsouth. I also found that, in my barrel, the 62 ELD VT does like a squeaky clean barrel. It doesn’t shoot them spectacularly, but it’s minute of coyote quite a ways out there.

I have a 20” faxon barrel that will not shoot the 62ELD-VT bullets factory or handloads.
I have had good success with the 60gr Vmax at 3250 fps using lever evaluation powder.

so what is the Overall length?

Mine is a compressed load of CFE 223 with 50 grain Nosler ballistic tips. Out of a 24 inch barrel I'm right 3630. I ordered a 27 inch barrel from X Caliber during the black Friday sale to see if I have any powder left after 24 inch to break 3700. Fingers are crossed.

So here is my experiece with this. I have 3 22 ARC bolt guns, had a gas gun but the pressure ceiling was just to low for me. Played with the 62gr eldvt quite a bit when they were new. They were very very finicky. Of my rifles and my dads, so at the time 4 rifles, one shot them great, one was borderline acceptable accuracy, the other two hated them. I went to the 60gr vmax and all the rifles shot them well. (3/4 @100 or better). I recently loaded the 69gr blitzking , which recently became available as a component, and it shoots extremely well. 3300fps from a 22in barrel (bolt) no pressure signs. 30gr AA2230.

30.2gr of Lever, CCI 450s with 75gr ELDMs at 2.255 gives the best load for me in both my rifles. One a bolt gun and the other an AR. Both 20” barrels. It’s a bit anemic in the bolt gun but at 2925fps I’m happy. I tried the ELDVT but couldn’t get anything close to what the ELDM did accuracy wise. I’m very impressed with the Lever powder. My ES with this load was 5.6 for five shots.

In my ar's I just shoot factory ammo. The black box 75eld-m load shoots the best, but the eld-vt is a close second.

I have a 27" PBB barrel on an origin that is shooting one hole groups with berger 85.5 and 30 grains of h4350 at 2950 with an over all length of 2.353. After I get the brass fire formed I will check to see where the ceiling is as I'm not seeing any pressure.

3630 fps is crazy, made me chuckle a little. That little bullet must hit them like a lighting bolt.

I have a 22ARC bolt action, the factory 62gr V-Match shoots well from my rifle (24" Proof Research 1:7) @ 3275 fps avg

I am just starting to handload the lighter bullets in this rifle, have some test rounds done up with the 62gr ELDvt over the following powders : Alliant AR Comp, Alliant RL15.5ts, H322, H4895, StaBALL Match, Varget, IMR 8208xbr

I absolutely love this cartridge, gave my son a Howa Mini Carbon Stalker for Christmas

69gr Blitzking ifo 30 gr. AA2230. 22in bolt gun. 3300fps. Getting a few swipes. Gave up on the gas guns, just cant handle pressure.

Picket up a Ruger Am. Gen II in 22 ARC. Holy hell the action is rough compared to my Tikkas, but wasn't about to drop $1500+ on anything custom, and Howa's weren't threaded for my can, so was kinda "stuck". First impression, kinda like and and have to remember it's a $550 rifle. Trying to get the 62gr ELD-VT to work in it. May have a load with Varget at about 3150fps. Hope to get back to the range in a few weeks to continue development, but looks to be a MOA or better rifle. Good enough for thermal hunting inside of 250 yards.

Been thinking about the same rifle, ruger or a bca bolt action upper.
