What is your pet load for 22ARC 18 Inch 1/7 twist AR
so what is the Overall length?I wanted to shoot the 62 ELD-VT, and they were decent, but not great. My barrel just didn't like them quite enough I guess. I switched to the 53 v-max, and everything came together.
This is a from a 7 twist 18" AR.
- 31.8 Staball Match
- 53 V-max, 1.655 CBTO
- CCI BR4
- 1x Hornady brass
- Crimped with Lee crimp die
~3250 FPS
I haven't measured OAL in years because it varies so much, but I just measured some, and it looks like they average about 2.098.so what is the Overall length?
3630 fps is crazy, made me chuckle a little. That little bullet must hit them like a lighting bolt.Mine is a compressed load of CFE 223 with 50 grain Nosler ballistic tips. Out of a 24 inch barrel I'm right 3630. I ordered a 27 inch barrel from X Caliber during the black Friday sale to see if I have any powder left after 24 inch to break 3700. Fingers are crossed.
It does a good job. I wanted to see if it could measure up to a 22 Nosler. The ARC beats it with no pressure signs.3630 fps is crazy, made me chuckle a little. That little bullet must hit them like a lighting bolt.
Been thinking about the same rifle, ruger or a bca bolt action upper.Picket up a Ruger Am. Gen II in 22 ARC. Holy hell the action is rough compared to my Tikkas, but wasn't about to drop $1500+ on anything custom, and Howa's weren't threaded for my can, so was kinda "stuck". First impression, kinda like and and have to remember it's a $550 rifle. Trying to get the 62gr ELD-VT to work in it. May have a load with Varget at about 3150fps. Hope to get back to the range in a few weeks to continue development, but looks to be a MOA or better rifle. Good enough for thermal hunting inside of 250 yards.
