What are you drinking?

Might have to try some of that Woodford Reserve:cool:

Some years back... My and my coworkers boss at the time, gave my coworker and good friend a bottle of Macallan 25 for his 65th birthday. My friends wife didn't let him smoke, or drink, in the house. We always smoked and drank in the garage or backyard. It's exactly the same at my house still - no smoking or drinking in the house.

But for his 65th, my friends wife let us SMOKE and DRINK in the LIVING ROOM! We sat in the twin Lazy Boy recliners and drank half that bottle and smoked two of the box of $25 each Fuente cigars I had given him for his birthday. We were two happy sumbitches!

I hate when this happens! šŸ˜‚

Can't do Makers mark. Not into wheated whiskies.
My sisters ex boyfriend is BIG into whisky. He has a dedicated room for his collection of over a 1000 bottles and he has the collection insured. Didn't know you could insure a consumable.
He told me we should get together for a tasting. I told him i was a consumer not a connoisseur.

I’ll defer to my previous post… to each their own! Lol… MM isn’t my drink of choice, but I picked it over the bottles of Jim Beam and JD on the shelf to end my day.

Good night to my friends on PM! I seriously love you guys, and respect your thoughts! Might be the Bourbon talking, but, I seriously love you guys! Peace!

he must have been a great employee, Macallan 25 is around 2 grand a bottle.

being Happy is an understatement :)

I'm what some call a "gram counter" for backpacking. I'm super weight conscious. Keep my base weight under 15 pounds. That's for pack, shelter, sleeping, cook stove, water treatment, clothes. Basically counting everything except food and water - and including the clothes I'm wearing. But I carry whiskey on every trip! And cigars. Most of my backpacking trips used to be in the 50 mile range. I'm getting old and weak though. Have been trying to keep them in the 30-40 mile range the last couple of years.

This was a typical 50-something miler from some years back. About 25 miles in, enjoying a whiskey and cigar.

I guess I'm too dumb to get that serious, or I like my comforts too much. My base is probably closer to 25 pounds. On that particular trip, fully loaded at the trailhead I was carrying 42 pounds, but that include a full bottle of that whiskey (in a Nalgene to not carry the glass) and a big package of oryx steak for the first night's dinner (that's your fault by the way).

Usually I don't have to worry about whiskey, as most backpacking trips are with my Scouts. We probably average 20 miles because of time limitations, but have done a couple 50-mile runs when we have a full week.

In keeping with the OP, this true story is a shameless brag on me.
A new boss took over our department and part of my current assignment had a difficult
geometric software solution. The new boss didn't know me from Adam, and thought I wasn't up to the task.
He had seen others fail at this task in his recent past, he thought it was impossible.
So I wagered him it would be done by the weekend, and if so, he owed me a CASE (yes case) of Glenlivet scotch.
We shook hands on it and I told a work buddy he'll need to take out a second mortgage.
So come weekend, and a few extra hours at work on my part, it was done good per the bet.
He was humbled - I let him off the hook with only two bottles, after all he was still my boss..
