I like to look closely at the laws of nature. I believe there are things we can do and live that generally produce a better outcome and a happier life. examples would be giving and charity. I believe this helps the giver more than the recipient, I can't explain why, (successful people almost universally have some charity they do) I believe the laws of morality and violating them have consequences for us long term that we may not see at the time. (yes I have violated them and FAFO'd)I think service to other people helps us with happiness and life satisfaction. These laws of nature are strongly promoted in the organized religion I attend, its deemed as commandments and principles of the gospel. Simply put I think the tenants of organized religion align closely with a happier and less complex life. Another would be repentance, This teaches us to self evaluate and question our actions, its a chance to ponder and think did I handle this right. It also suggests an unselfishness that defers to something other than one's self. I believe this self reflection is powerful for all people and yet so lost on so many, we need more of it. I believe prayer is another form of meditation that has shown to be helpful for all peoples. This also impacts your family. For instance all women are crazy, I just say its a matter of how often and how bad

to me I am not going to put my entire life's work and spend it with someone that is going to bounce and leave and blow half it with some other man along with my young children that I don't get to raise. Simply put I use organized religion as an insurance policy for that. I believe its unlikely my home, marriage and family all goes to shit if I keep them going to church and living it. BTW I was married before and lived the other side and know what the alternative looks like. I could go on about the benefits of religion that if done even as a non believer leads to better family outcomes.
