.17 HMR scope for around $100

This has probably been posted before but I did a search and did not find what I was looking for. What would be a good scope for around $100 (give or take $20) for my savage 93r17? I am also needing some help deciding what power and which rings to get. If it helps the gun will mostly be used for varmint and small game hunting at various ranges. 250 yds would probably be the farthest I take a shot at.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I previously owned the BSA..don't bother with the piece of junk. Go for a Nikon 3x9x40 Buckmaster..only a tad more for price, great clarity, and a good warranty.

I bought a used Burris Fulfield II 3-9X40 on this forum for my Savage 93R17 .17 HMR and it's great ! Nice and clear. There are new ones on Amazon for around $170. I've seen others on this forum in the past .

You will be happy with this one.

I have 1 on my 22mag and it has never failed me...cold, ice, rain, it stays on center. Great on bright snow nights with the illuminated cross-hair no lights needed.

Bob, are you referring to the centerpoint?

And what power do you guys think I should get for the uses and ranges listed above? I was thinking 4-12x

Also does anyone have any experience with the barska hot magnum?

Barska and BSA means JUNK. The CenterPoint are a much better bet. You couldn't give me a Barsk...unless I needed a new fish billy club.

Thanks I was kind of expecting that but thought it might be a higher end version of the BSA sweet 17

I have narrowed it down to: Centerpoint Adventure, Mueller APV, Bushnell Banner, or Simmons prosport. But I'm still open to suggestions. Still haven't decided on which power yet, I'm leaning towards 3-12x or 4-14x.

The Bushnell Banner, 3.5-10X36 AO. Trajectory comp. elevation for .17HMR. Right around 100 bucks.
I see you've listed the Mueller APV, also. That's probably the best of the bunch. More $ and weight, though. I run the Weaver 3-9x32 AO Rimfire on my HMR, but it and the similar Clearidge are $225; the latter is available in gloss, too, if that's a consideration.

Pretty sure I'm gonna end up goin with the 3-12x bushnell banner.

But I still don't know what rings to get and what height for the savage 93R17 BTV - the one with the thumbhole stock.

I bought the above mentioned Mueller for my 93r17hmr and it works great....it really works well at the longer shots with the 14X and the adj objective and is not too overpowered for a 50yd head shot on a tree rat.
