.17 Rem Bullets?

I have loaded the berger 25 gr match hp for my 17 Rem for many years and I was loading a batch today and realized I was almost out of bullets. I was going to order some and seems they are not making that one anymore and only the varmint bullet, which was not the best choice back when they made both. It didn't penetrate well and blew up on shoulders. Can anyone give me some advice on a good bullet for coyotes in .17 cal and 25 gr? My gun will not stabilize a heavier bullet so can't load 30's.

Looks like Black Hole is only making 30gr 17 cal bullets and Reeds shows out of stock. Watch the adds, every now and then I've seen Kinder golds and Remington for sale.

I’ve used the 20 gr VMAX out of my 17 for one coyote at 260 yds. Duck and cat eater. He fell to one shot. I just got a load worked up for the 25 gr VMAX, but haven’t gotten the chance yet to plow a coyote with it. They are clocking around 3800.

I stocked up on Hornady 25 gr HP's back before they quit making them but every once in a while, Midway will have them private labeled. I have to assume Hornady makes a special run for Midway and private labels them? You might give Midway a call and ask them about it.

Hammer has 18,19 and 21 gr in stock.

Well, the 25 VMAX worked last night at 50 and 519 yds. Both fell where they stood. I think they work fine for coyotes.

17 REM, 16” Liberty barrel, 24.5 gr of Varget in Hornady reformed 204 brass. First time shooting the 25 for coyotes. Nothing special about the rifle, home done side charger with no gas. Wished the barrel was fluted, it’s plenty heavy, even at 16”. Seems to be a working combination and there’s plenty of those bullets out there. I will continue slapping them with this gun.

Next time I'm in Esterville I'll be stopping at Steve's shop(Saturn's) and checking out his 17 rem barrels. Mine is a 10 twist and doesn't play well with the 25 vm. Plus I'd be able to shoot the 30's I have.
